the success of a country does not dwell on the government but as well as on the

people. This is the reason why people should be involved to sustain the Philippines
economy. The Philippine government has established multiple agencies that will
bring more opportunities and benefits to the people. One of the agencies that the
Philippines government has established in the Department of trade and industry,
which has a large impact in the Philippines economy.
The department of trade and industry acts as a catalyst for intensified private sector
activity to accelerate and sustain the Philippines economic growth through a
comprehensive economic growth strategy. And these strategies are to be globally
competitive, innovative and inclusive industry. According to secretary ramon lopez,
the new strategy emphasizes to generate employment and promote
entrepreneurship. it serves as the primary coordinative, promotive, and regulatory
arm of the government. It is headed by ramon lopez who is the current secretary
of the DTI. and he is the prime of the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium
Enterprise). The role of the DTI can be seen in businesses and consumers. They are
mandated to protect the rights of the consumers and develop more policies for the
growth of the Philippines.
We would be focusing on two arising issues in the department of trade and
industry. First is the promotion of their services to the people who are not yet
registered with the DTI. the level of awareness of the public regarding the services
the DTI offers is low. They do not even know that the DTI provides certain services
and benefits to the people. So, the priority of the department of trade and industry
focuses on increasing the percentage of the businesses that are registered. If the
people do not get involved, number of informal or unregistered businesses will
continue to inflate over time. second, a factor why people are hesitant to register
their business to DTI is that it takes time processing one’s transaction with DTI,
specifically to be registered. This will make them tired of waiting for their
certificates of registration to be given.
Both the Government and the people have their roles to play for the success and
development of the country. interest and willingness should be present Interest
and willingness should be present within each Interest and willingness should be
present within everyone in order to attain the objective. Aside from these, systems
within the agency such as the DTI, must be flawless and tailored to meet the needs
of the people. All of these would result in a better and brighter futur for the whole
country.
