Once upon a time, in ancient Greece, there lived a king Érase una vez, en la antigua Grecia, vivía un rey

called Midas. He was very rich and he lived in a splendid
palace with beautiful gardens. Now although he was
surrounded by marvelous things, he never noticed
them. The only things Midas was interested in was gold
and the more he had the more he wanted.
One day, king Midas woke up and saw the sun shining
through the window. At first king Midas was happy to
see the golden rays in his bedroom, but them he
thought. If everybody has them they are worth nothing.
He want to the window and laughed at Apollo the sun
god Apollo he shouted, why do you give your golden
rays to the poor people?. One of my gold coins is worth
more than all of your golden rays.
When Apollo heard king Midas, he was very angry, I
have a plan to show Midas what his gold is really worth,
he thought. That night, Apollo visited king Midas in a
dream. Give you one wish, he said to the king. What do
you want more than anything in the word.
The greedy king didn´t think for long. Gold he said. I
want everything I touch to turn to gold. The next
morning, the king went into the gardens to look for his
daughter. The princess loved the sun god because his
golden rays made the roses grow in the palace gardens.
When Midas touched the rose it turned to gold. Look
how wonderful the rose is now. Said the king. I don´t
think it´s wonderful the princess said. It´s hard ant it has
no perfume.
You are silly. The king said and he kissed the princess on
the cheek but when his lips toucher her cheek, turned
to god.
Midas. Era muy rico y vivía en un espléndido palacio con
hermosos jardines. Ahora, aunque estaba rodeado de
cosas maravillosas, nunca las notó. Lo único que le
interesaba a Midas era el oro y cuanto más tenía, más
quería.
Un día, el rey Midas se despertó y vio el sol brillando a
través de la ventana. Al principio, el rey Midas se alegró
de ver los rayos dorados en su habitación, pero pensó
en ellos. Si todos los tienen, no valen nada.
Él quería ir a la ventana y se rió de Apolo, el dios del sol
Apolo, le gritó, ¿por qué le das tus rayos dorados a los
pobres? Una de mis monedas de oro vale más que
todos tus rayos dorados.
Cuando Apolo escuchó al rey Midas, estaba muy
enojado, tengo un plan para mostrarle a Midas lo que
realmente vale su oro, pensó. Esa noche, Apolo visitó al
rey Midas en un sueño. Te deseo un deseo, le dijo al
rey. ¿Qué quieres más que nada en la palabra?
