OBJECTIVES
GENERAL
Understand through the analysis of a clinical case the importance of the dose limit for radiation in an
individual, in relation to the theory seen in class.
SPECIFICS
Identify the relationship of the pathology that the patient presents with radiation.
Understand the effects that radiation generates on an individual's internal tissues.
Create an interface that allows to generate values of the behavior of the radiations.
The objective of this report is to understand, through the analysis of a clinical case, the
importance of the dose limit for radiation in an individual and to create an interface that
allows to generate values of radiation behavior, making a contribution to the
implementation of radiological safety, identifying the relationship of the pathology that the
patient presents with radiation, understanding the effects that radiation generates in the
internal tissues of an individual, quantitatively and qualitatively modeling the parameters
that determine the behavior of ionizing radiation and creating a code through a language of
programming to create an application that allows to calculate and report respective
parameters to the radiation that are important in medical procedures of diagnosis and
treatment.
A 48-year-old man with coronary risk factors (hypertension, dyslipidemia) and a history of
acute myocardial infarction underwent a coronary angiography where two serious lesions
were found in the descending artery and circumflex arteries, reason for which he was
referred to a hospital. high complexity for carrying out angioplasty in two vessels. It is
treated surgically with primary success. The patient was discharged at 48 hours with no
other complications of being treated surgically.
Approximately at 15 days, presented on the scapular region, a small lesion, circumscribed,
erythematous and asymptomatic, and at 30 days began with pruritus, mainly nocturnal, dry
desquamation and erythema.Five months later presented a lesion of about 9 × 7 cm , pale
ocher color, clean, not desquamative and without added injuries. The cardiologist made the
diagnosis of injury induced by ionizing radiation. The usual substrate for these lesions is
proliferative endothelitis in small vessels.
