Q) Hey Kallum, how are you doing?

A) Hey I’m great thanks! Things are going well.

Q) That’s great. Massive congratulations on the album reaching number 1 and the single reaching
number 3 in the UK Charts!

A) Thank you so much! I honestly can’t believe it at all!!!

Q So, what are you doing here today?

A) Well, today I’m here writing some songs, seeing what I might be able to come up with. I come
here to the studio when I feel I need to get things off my chest or I’m feeling some ideas coming.
Sometimes I just come here to relax.

Q) Today I wanted to ask you about your debut album, ‘Klueless’, it’s brilliant! The way everything is
so creative and abstract yet so personal too. What was the meaning behind the album?

A) The songs on the album have been written over the past few years about how my life’s going. I
use music as a way of relieving what’s on my mind, which is why all of the songs are very personal.
I’ve track listed them to follow my journey, from the stress of school, to leaving and finding what I
want to do, discovering myself and how to relax, and overall finding happiness which is where I’m at
now.

Q) I love how you make it so meaningful, and at such a young age.

A) The song “Drive By” is all about being 17 and young actually. I just find this as my way to express
myself and its incredible to think that people actually want to hear this story of myself which I’m
telling.

Q) Well, you first single release from the album is “Da Vinci Riot Police” and that’s all about your
journey too, isn’t it?

A) Yeah it is, I wrote this song about how I want to run away from what’s expected and just live free,
doing what makes me happy. I wanted to make it a bit more abstract, bringing in my parents and
how supportive they are as well as using the idea of adventure and the unknown from the Da Vinci
Code, one of my favourite books because of the exciting code cracking. My songs a bit confusing so
maybe that’s like a code too.

Q) The music video follows this idea too, doesn’t it?

A) Well, I told Passionate Volcano Productions about what the song is about and how I want other
people around a similar age to realise that they can do what makes them happy and that there is a
whole world ahead of them, and they helped me bring this vision to life. They helped me show this

journey but with a childish feel and it captures a fun story which could have easily come from a
book! I love that and I think it also conveys my message well too.

Q) Its brilliant that you’re able to tell your story, and I agree it is in such a fun manner! How comes
you picked the actors you did?

A) I wanted to represent myself and my best friend through this video. Her and I have been through
everything together and she was one of the people who has stuck by me the whole time,
encouraging me to take the risk and go for it. Both Reece and Denisa, the actors, I felt captured it
perfectly, making it all appear so fun and carefree.

Q) I loved how they embody the happiness being shown, they really found their inner child.
Although earlier you mentioned your sexuality, and you are very open about it, however you
portrayed a romantic spark between them, how comes?

A) Before I knew and had come out, I tried to see if it would work with her but we both knew it
wasn’t right and found it funny, and I wanted to show how that was a part of my journey too.

Q) The way you have opened up to every part of your journey and I think it is incredible especially as
you’re just starting out too.

A) I want them to know the real me, not anyone else.

Q) What plans have you got for the near future?

A) Well I’ve just released my tour dates for next year, which go on sale in a few weeks’ time. The
album has had such an amazing reception already and I can’t wait to keep releasing more music!
People have commented on the music video for ‘Da Vinci Riot Police’ telling me how it has inspired
them to do what they want to do and how happy it made them feel and this has made me so happy.
The song got to number 3 and the album to number 1! It’s crazy! I’m filming the music video for
‘Over It’ soon too, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! It honestly seems so unreal and it’s hard to
believe that this is my life. It’s all so exciting!
