Trinidad y Tobago hacen parte de las islas del caribe, su capital es Puerto España, es el
sexto país mas poblado del caribe; su territorio esta formado por dos islas principales
trinidad que es más grande y Tobago.

HISTORIA.
Cristóbal Colon descubrió el 31 de julio de 1498 y nombro a lo que hoy se conoce como
trinidad “tierra de la santísima trinidad” y a lo que se conoce como Tobago “Bella Forma”.
Después se disputo el dominio de estas tierras entre españoles, ingleses, neerlandeses y
franceses. Luego de muchos acontecimientos para apropiarse de la isla, la Provincia de
Trinidad fue finalmente creada, por los españoles, en el siglo XVI. Durante las guerras de
Napoleón los ingleses conquistaron las islas. Como consecuencia de esta colonización la
mayoría de su población indígena desapareció y se sustituyó por población africana.

Su crecimiento esta ligado al desarrollo de hidrocarburos, petroquímica, turismo y
agricultura. Dentro de la agricultura resalta el cultivo de caña de azúcar, cacao, frutas
cítricas y café.

CULTURA.
-Trinidad y Tobago es famosa por su Carnaval previo a la Cuaresma, siendo este uno de los
mejores del mundo.

-También es el lugar de nacimiento de la música calipso y tambores metálicos.
