Part 1
To have (had) enough / Haber tenido suficiente de algo

Introducción
En esta edición de “Cool English Expressions” aprenderás nuevas e interesantes formas para hablar
acerca de “haber tenido suficiente” de algo o alguien, que te harán sonar más natural y adicionaran
variedad a tu Inglés, así como también introducirán algunas frases y expresiones coloquiales.

Las siete expresiones (con Audio)


Escucha las siguientes frases. Primero escucharas la expresión dos veces en Inglés con una pausa
para que puedas repetirla, y luego dos ejemplos que contienen la expresión en contexto, que estas
aprendiendo.

1. To be done with someone or something

I’m done with my boss asking me to stay late every night. It’s not fair!!
She’s done with living in England so she’s going to live in Spain next year

2. To be (really) fed up with something or someone

I’m really fed up with her complaining about her English classes, because she never studies
I’m really fed up with the weather at the moment. I need a holiday!

3. To have (had) it up to here

Esta expresión suele estar acompañada por un gesto en el cual la persona que la esta diciendo eleva
su mano hasta la cabeza o por encima de ella.

I’ve had it up to here with him asking stupid questions. I wish he would remember what I told him!
He’s had it up to here with his wife and I think they’re going to divorce soon

4. To be over something or someone

I’m over this job! I’ve got an interview next week and if it goes well, I’m leaving
She’s over the cost of parking in Barcelona, so she’s going to sell her car

5. To have (had) it up to the back teeth with someone or something

We’ve had it up to the back teeth with our neighbours. They always play loud music at night!
They’ve had it up to the back teeth with the work situation in Spain so they’re moving to Germany

6. To be pissed off with someone or something (British)

I’m really pissed off with the weather, I need a holiday, and soon!
He’s really pissed off with his football team because they’re having a terrible season

7. To be at one’s wit’s end

I’m at my wit’s end about what to do about work. I hate it, but I know I need the money!
I know you’re at your wits end about the exam, but if you study a lot, then you’ll be fine
