Transformada de Laplace
Frecuencia compleja

Frecuencia compleja
Considérese la siguiente función senoidal
exponencialmente amortiguada:

𝑓 𝑡 = 𝑉𝑚 𝑒 𝜎𝑡 cos(𝑤𝑡 + 𝜃)
f (t ) = Kest
𝑒 𝑗(𝑤𝑡+𝜃) + 𝑒 −𝑗(𝑤𝑡+𝜃)
𝑓 𝑡 = 𝑉𝑚 𝑒 𝜎𝑡

Luego:

𝑉𝑚 𝑗𝜃 𝑉𝑚 −𝑗𝜃
𝑓 𝑡 = 𝑒 𝑒 𝜎+𝑗𝑤 𝑡 + 𝑒 𝑒 𝜎−𝑗𝑤 𝑡 = 𝑉𝑚 𝑒 𝜎𝑡 cos(𝑤𝑡 + 𝜃)
2 2
𝑓 𝑡 = 𝐾1 𝑒 𝑠1𝑡 + 𝐾2 𝑒 𝑠2𝑡

𝑉𝑚 𝑗𝜃
𝐾1 = 𝑒 La exponencial compleja aporta un desfase inicial
2
𝑉𝑚 −𝑗𝜃
𝐾2 = 𝑒
2

The sampler output cannot be described in terms of a conventional transfer

function relating output to input transforms and the standard techniques for
control system analysis and design are not applicable. This difficulty can be
overcome, and the analysis simplified, by defining the Z-Transform.

Tenemos: 𝐹(𝑠) = න 𝑒 −𝑠𝑡 𝑓(𝑡)𝑑𝑡

𝐿 𝑓 𝑘𝑇 = 𝐹 (𝑠)

Se sustituye 𝑧 = 𝑒 𝑇𝑠 en 𝐹 ∗ 𝑠 para obtener 𝐹 𝑧 :

Transformada Z
Series geométricas
The terms of a geometric serie form a geometric progression,
meaning that the ratio of successive terms in the series is a constant.

The behavior of
the terms
depends on the
common ratio r.
Transformada Z
Series geométricas

If r is between −1 and +1
The terms of the series approach zero in the limit (becoming smaller
and smaller in magnitude), and the series converges to a sum.

If r is greater than one or less than minus one

The terms of the series become larger and larger in magnitude.
The sum of the terms also gets larger and larger, and the series has no
sum. The series diverges.

If r is equal to one
All of the terms of the series are the same. The series diverges.

If r is minus one
The terms take two values alternately (e.g. 2, −2, 2, −2, 2,... ).
The sum of the terms oscillates between two values (e.g. 2, 0, 2, 0, 2,... ).
This is a different type of divergence and again the series has no sum.

Intuitively speaking, what does a Z-transform represent?

forma.
Transformada Z
Intuitively speaking, what does a Z-transform represent?
Ejemplo
Sea la señal:

𝑛 = −1 𝑛=0 𝑛=1

Su transformada Z es, simplemente:

𝑋 𝑧 = 𝑥 −1 𝑧 − −1 + 𝑥 0 𝑧 − 0 + 𝑥 1 𝑧 − 1

So we can just use the geometric sum formula to

rewrite this nicely as:

The math seems to tell us that instead of using an infinite number of

delay blocks like above, we can re-express our system so nicely with
just a single delay block, although it's in the denominator.

The region of convergence, known as the ROC,

is important to understand because it defines
the region where the z-transform exists.
Transformada Z

Comprobar que:

If you need stability:

Then the ROC must contain the unit circle.

If you need a causal system:

Then the ROC must contain infinity and the
system function will be a right-sided sequence.

If you need an anticausal system:

Then the ROC must contain the origin and the
system function will be a left-sided sequence.

If you need both, stability and causality:

All the poles of the system function must be inside
