Talking about the presentations

Strengths

The presentations were good; the groups presented the topics assigned to them and were able to
explore the various resources at their disposal for their elaboration.

They came to know certain concepts related to their subjects, were able to answer clearly the
questions posed to them by the opposing group as well as by some classmates and were able to
present within the given time.

Negative points

The groups had difficulties regarding the organizational aspects of the slides as well as the
presentation itself.

It was observed that certain groups had texts in their slides instead of keywords, schemes or
images, which diverted the attention of the audience, concerned to read the texts instead of paying
attention to what they intended to convey.

There was a lack of organization in the structure of the presentations, such as lack of
synchronization, uneven distribution of themes and lack of prior preparation among group
members.

Throughout the presentations, it was noted that there were some members with difficulties in
vocabulary and pronunciation of some English words, and there were those who seemed to have
more mastery of the subject than others although the work was done in groups.

Recommendations

Due to the difficulties faced by the groups regarding the negative aspects mentioned above, it is
recommended:

 Train the presentation days before, to avoid lack of sync with the group members during the
presentation;
 More reading from books, handbooks, journals, scientific articles and other information
sources to help improve the vocabulary and pronunciation of some words in English;
 Make simple and objective slides with layouts, keywords or images to facilitate presentation
and greater understanding of the audience;
 Be objective, use of formal and clear language, in order to facilitate the perception of what is
intended to convey.
