If ‘the extension wil be used ouside, the cord must be suitable for outdoor use. The letters “WA onthe cord jacket indicate that tis suitable for outdoor use. Any cord marked as outdoor can also be used {or indoor work. ‘An extension cord must have adequate wie size (AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety, and to prevent loss of 2ower and overheating The smaler the gauge number ofthe wie, the greater the capacity ofthe cable, that is 16 gauge has more capacity than 18 gauge. When using more than one ‘extension to make up the total length, be sure each individual extension contains atleast the minimum ire size. (Figure 4) Cutting Capacity ‘The wide vise opening and high pivot point provide cutting capacity for many large pieces. Use this chart to determine total maximum sizeof cuts that can be made with a new wheel. (See Figure 6) For very accurate cuts, usea protractor. Figure 6 INDEX LINE Lubrication Closed-type, grease-sealed ball bearings are used throughout. These bearings have sufclent ubrca- ton packed in them atthe factory to last the fife of the bearing, Gears shouldbe relubricated every 60 to 90 days, depending upon use This lubrication should only be attempted by experienced power tool repairpersons like the mechanics at BAD service centers. The gear case should be wiped clean and 24 oz (20 grams) of B&D Lubricant PartNo, 790206 (6 cz tube) shouldbe placed inthe gear case Blowing dust and rt out ofthe main housing by means of an ar hose is recommended and may be done as often as dit is seen collecting in and around the ar vents. Motor Brushes e sure too! is unplugged before inspecting brushes. Brushes should be regularly inspected for ‘wear. To inspect brushes, unscrew the plastic brush caps (located in the sides ofthe motor housing) and the spring and brush assemblies may be removed from the tol. Keep brushes clean and sliding froolyin their guides. Ifthe brushes are worn down to 0.3" length, they must be replaced. New brush assembles are available at B&D service centers. See TOOLS, ELECTRIC inthe Yellow Pages. (See Figure7) Procedure For Permanent Mounting 1. Drill four holes, 5/16" diameter minimum, through the work surface. (Figure 8) 2. Remove screws from feet. 3.
