Agriculture, Learn to work in the Northern Territory’s cattle industry as
horticulture and jackaroos/jillaroos, ringers or station managers. Specialised industry
aquaculture programs such as SmartTrain Chemical Accreditation, Vertebrate
pest management, Freshcare Quality Assurance program, Skid Steer
Loader training, 4x4 vehicle recovery and ATV quad training are

Automotive Automotive courses provide students with skills, licences and trade
qualifications for various aspects of the automotive mechanical,
electrical, vehicle body and transport industries. People can begin
this career path as a VET in schools student or a school-based
apprentice. Training in the industry may lead to an apprenticeship
or traineeship with an established automotive industry provider, but
for those who do not take this path, there are other options to gain
qualifications to work in the industry.

What is Vocational Education and
Training (VET)?
If you’ve come from interstate, you’re
probably familiar with TAFE. In the NT,
Charles Darwin University (CDU)
VET courses are the equivalent. VET
courses offer hands-on, practical skills
that are occupation focussed.
What is an Apprenticeship?
This refers to a training style which
combines work and study. You must have
an employer and you must
sign a contract of training with
