Apart from the traditional South
Indian architecture the students
also had the opportunity to ex-
perience the Gothic Churches
in Chennai & Trichy and Danish
Settlement in Tranquebar.
One of the highlight of the tour
was the visit to Dakshinachitra,
where the traditional south In-
dian way of life by constructing
a “living” village is preserved.

The tour had bought the stu-


dents in contact with great ar-
chitectural marvels and the cul-
tural heritage of south India.

initiated a club for their ex-
tracurricular activities named
SPARCZ, which aims at strength-
ening their hobbies into useful
learning skills relevant to their
course. SPARCZ promotes over-
all personality of the students
through socio-cultural activities
and Recreation.

This club was formerly inaugu-


rated by Prof.N. Ramalingam. Jt
Secretary, Indian Institute of Ar-
chitects, Tamilnadu at the school
of Architecture on 14.12.2009.
