 ABSTRACT

As crimes and violations of rules and regulations increases, the concern for safety and
security of one’s individual arises. The students, faculties and staffs became vulnerable to various
crimes such as theft, vandalism, cheating, bullying and other forms of violations. Thus, monitoring
the intruders and unwanted visitors that enters and leaves the school premises is difficult due to
lack of man power. Therefore, proponents came up with the idea of proposing the installation of
CCTV Surveillance System within the area of Bicol University, Daraga Campus.

CCTV Surveillance System is a system used to transmit video signals from CCTV
cameras to monitors or recorders. Installation of CCTV Surveillance System allows the school
administration to monitor the behavior of the students, teachers and intruders. It will reduce some
cases of crimes and violations once it is installed. Thus, it provides evidences needed for further
investigation if unusual occurrences happened in order to prevents false accusation and false
allegations to the school, students and teachers.

However, CCTV Surveillance System requires high cost of budget due to expensive
equipment for installation. Thus, it needs proper maintenance and trained personnel to manage
the CCTV cameras. Regardless of this, it helps a lot in dealing with crimes and prevention of
emergencies within the campus.
