Analogy
I love eating, baking, going out with my friends and hanging out with
my family during our spare hours. I’m a little bit shy when I’m not familiar to
the surroundings but when I’m used to it, I’m being comfortable with it, and
become sociable.
Grade
MOTHER- a mother is the one who takes care of her children. She will
do anything to make her children very happy and comfortable, even
though she is suffering from pain. I can’t live without my mother,
because I always depend on her, so if she’s gone, maybe it will be
hard for me to move on with my life.
FRIEND- a friend is someone you can rely on, whenever you need
him/her. A friend treasures your relationship and corrects your
mistake without a second thought. My friends love me and accept me
for who I am. For us to grow we need to trust each other and make
through to struggles of life.
HOME- a home is where the family stays together through good times
and bad times. A home would never be completed without the family
members from father to the youngest ones. I can’t call our house a
home because my father is always in abroad, that’s why I’m looking
forward to have a real home someday, when I have my own family.
Friendship Forever
Two inseparable friends, Elle and Stef , met with a car accident on their
way to Davao City. The following morning, Stef woke up blind and Elle was
still unconscious. Dr. Valde was standing at his bedside looking at his health
chart and medications with a thoughtful expression on his face. When he
saw Elle awake, he beamed at him and asked." How do you feel today Elle?"
Sam tried to put up a brave face and smiled back saying, "Absolutely
wonderful Doctor. I am very grateful for all that you have done for me. "Dr
Valde was moved at Elle’s deed. All that he could say was, "You are a very
brave man Elle and God will make it up to you in one way or another". While
he was moving on to the next patient, Elle called back at him almost
pleading "Promise me you won't tell Stef anything"."You know I won't do
that. Trust me." and walked away. "Thank you “whispered Elle. He smiled
and looked up in prayer " I hope I live up to your ideas...please give me the
strength to be able to go through this...Amen"

Analysis
Hairball Problems
The problem of hairballs that have already formed in cat’s fur can be
solved by proper brushing. In order to brush your cat’s hairballs, you’ll need
two kinds of brushes: a wide-teeth wipe and a metallic one. The former will
help you dissolve and, partially, remove tightly knotted hairballs without
causing any pain or discomfort to your cat. The latter, used subsequently,
will remove excess of loose puffy hair and decrease the possibility of
reoccurrence the next day. Once brushing is over, make sure to polish your
cat’s fur all over his body with the help of a clean, cotton, or woollen cloth.
Exemplification
For 5 years, my teacher Mr. Caparas taught public school. Aside from
the student who ruined his carefully-planned lessons by making animal
sounds, nothing bothered him more than the language of educators; the
jargon and clichés and euphemisms found in school brochures. Take, for
example, The Parent and Student Middle School Guide from NCR, which
governs fourteen schools in Manila. In the booklet, one school brags that it
provides all students with “academic preparation” while helping them “to
think clearly” in “an enriched environment.” Another NCR middle school
claims that its staff “is comprised of” (sic) “highly qualified professionals who
specialize in the teaching of young adolescents.” A third school says that it
“is dedicated to students seeking an atmosphere that offers academic rigor
through intensified literary arts instruction, science and math investigations”
and “an exciting inter-disciplinary, multi-cultural curriculum.” This is blather,
the equivalent of a political stump speech (well, maybe not that bad). It
would be impossible for any parent reading these vagaries to picture what
goes on in the schools’ classrooms.
Process
Making chocolate chip cookies is easy. All you need are 1 cup unsalted
room temperature butter, ¾ cup packed brown sugar, ¾ cup granulated
sugar,1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 eggs, 1½ teaspoons genuine vanilla, 1
teaspoon salt, 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 12-ounce package (2 cups)
semisweet chocolate chips. First, you have to preheat the oven to 375
degrees. Second, combine the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl
and beat on medium speed for one minute. Third, Add the sugar and brown
sugar. Fourth, beat all ingredients until combined, scraping the sides of the
bowl occasionally. Fifth, add the eggs and vanilla. Breaking the eggs into a
separate bowl guarantees that you don't end up with eggshell in your
cookies. Then, Beat until these are combined. Continue to scrape the sides
of the bowl to evenly blend ingredients. Don't over mix, as that can lead to a
tougher cookie. After that, combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate
bowl. Next, slowly add the flour mixture, beating in as much as you can with
the mixer and then stirring in any remaining flour with a spoon. Then, add
the chocolate chips, gently stirring with a spoon until they're evenly mixed
throughout the batter. After that, Drop the dough in rounded, teaspoon-
sized balls, 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Lastly, Bake at 375
degree for eight to ten minutes. There you have it, as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Cause and Effect
In recent years cities like Manila, have grown so large that now about
50% of the Earth's population lives in urban areas. There are several
reasons for this occurrence. First, the increasing industrialization of the
nineteenth century resulted in the creation of many factory jobs, which
tended to be located in cities. These jobs, with their promise of a better
material life, attracted many people from rural areas. Second, there were
many schools established to educate the children of the new factory
laborers. The promise of a better education persuaded many families to
leave farming communities and move to the cities. Finally, as the cities
grew, people established places of leisure, entertainment, and culture, such
as sports stadiums, theaters, and museums. For many people, these
facilities made city life appear more interesting than life on the farm, and
therefore drew them away from rural communities.
Analogy
I can also compare myself to stuff toys, because I’m chubby and
cuddly like stuff toys. I can make you happy when you are sad. You can
display me, keep me or be with me anytime you want. You can hug me, cry
on me, talk to me and make fun of me when you have problems.
I can compare myself to a bag, because it’s handy and you can place
your important things there. Like bag you can share some important secrets
that you have and I’ll keep it secure and safe from harm. In other meaning,
I always have what you need, powder, fan, alcohol, comb, scissors and
many more. My classmate says that I’m a walking National Bookstore or
walking Watsons. I just laugh when they are saying that.
I can also compare myself to water, because I can fit in any situation
like water that has no definite shape and only fit in its container. If you are
rocker, I can be a rocker too. If you are conservative type, I can also be
conservative just the way you are, because I’m suitable in any situation.
Water is easy to find, as I am easy to find because I’m big, even you are
very far, you can see me in no time.
I can compare myself to a computer, because computer is super fast
when it is brand new, but as the time goes by, it slows down because the
memory is fully loaded. Like computer, I can learn very fast when the
lessons are starting but when my head if full of knowledge, my coping skills
becomes slow and can’t cope well. I may need a short rest and have some
snack to regain my strength and focus again on the lessons.
I can compare myself to a tree, because it’s sturdy and strong against
the strong wind and heavy rain that it encounters. I have many problems
that I’ve encounter in my life, sometimes it’s small and sometimes it’s big
problems, but my mother said that whatever problem that I may encounter,
be strong and face them until it is gone, because no problem can be
unsolvable. You just have to use your brain to choose the best action that
you can do.
