Abstract

First notice that you do not indent the first line of your abstract. The word “Abstract” is

centered, capitalized and bolded on the first line. Your abstract should be about 150-

250 words and should be a very condensed version of your entire paper. Remember the

Background, Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion (25-25-35-15) that we discussed in class.

On page three you begin your introduction section. First notice that this section is

not labeled, rather it begins with the title of your paper centered on the first few lines.

Continue the introduction. Start with Move 1: Establishing the Research Territory.

Include 4 research journal articles as part of the Literature Review.

Literature Review

Make sure that you have four research journal articles as part of the Literature

Review.

In the study of Gomez (2012), the attitudes of first year college students towards

the use of mobile phones in class were investigated. Please follow the format that we

discussed in class.

Carpio & Escario (2013), on the other hand, examined the response of teachers

or professors about the use of mobile phones in their classes.

Review the third research journal article.

Then that last research journal article.

The studies of Gomez (2012), Carpio & Escario (2013) investigated on the

students’ and teacher’s attitude toward the use of mobile phones in class. While the

Author 3 (2013) and Author 4 (2014) looked into the aspects that affect the use of

mobile phone. These studies failed to consider (insert the niche that you analyzed from

the four research journal articles).

Method

Participants

Describe the demographic characteristics of the participants. Do not forget to

include the sampling method that you used.

Survey Questionnaire

Describe the questionnaire. Describe each section and do not forget to cite in

APA format the references that you used to create the survey questionnaire. Please

report the results of the Pilot Test.

Procedure

Narrate the steps that you did, start from the creation of the survey to the

administration of the survey. Make sure that you use the past tense of the verb to

narrate the steps that you did.

Analysis

Describe the statistical treatment that you used to analyze the data. Explain to

which parts of the survey you used Mean or Mode Analysis for the close-ended

questions. Explain which part did you use the Thematic Analysis. Do not forget to cite

using APA style the reference that you used in analyzing the data from the open-ended

questions.
