A STUDY OF GENESIS

HUMANISTIC TENETS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT WITH SCRIPTURAL LAW

I. UNIFORMITARIANISM, (AKA) DOCTRINE OF UNIFORMITY

1
Uniformitarianism, in geology, the doctrine suggesting that Earth’s
geologic processes acted in the same manner and with essentially the same
intensity in the past as they do in the present and that such uniformity is
sufficient to account for all geologic change. This principle is fundamental to
geologic thinking and underlies the whole development of the science of
geology.

Definition of uniformitarianism
: a geological doctrine that processes acting in the same manner as at
present and over long spans of time are sufficient to account for all current
geological features and all past geological changes

Uniformitarianism is a geological theory that states that changes in the earth's

crust throughout history have resulted from the action of uniform, continuous
processes.

In the mid-seventeenth century, biblical scholar and Archbishop James

Ussher determined that the earth had been created in the year 4004 B.C. Just
over a century later James Hutton, known as the father of geology, suggested
that the earth was much older and that processes occurring in the present
were the same processes that had operated in the past, and would be the
processes that operate in the future.

This concept became known as uniformitarianism and can be summarized by

the phrase "the present is the key to the past." It was a direct rejection of the
prevalent theory of the time, catastrophism, which held that only violent
disasters could modify the surface of the earth.

Today, we hold uniformitarianism to be true and know that great disasters

such as earthquakes, asteroids, volcanoes, and floods are part of the regular
cycle of the earth. (Emphasis added)

The Apostle Peter seems to have been inspired by the Spirit

to prophesy concerning the doctrine of uniformity. II Peter 3:
3-7

II. DARWINS THEORY OF EVOLUTION

4
Darwin's Theory of Evolution is the widely held notion that all life is related
and has descended from a common ancestor: the birds and the bananas, the
fishes and the flowers -- all related. Darwin's general theory presumes the
development of life from non-life and stresses a purely naturalistic
(undirected) "descent with modification". That is, complex creatures evolve
from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time. In a nutshell, as random
genetic mutations occur within an organism's genetic code, the beneficial
mutations are preserved because they aid survival -- a process known as
"natural selection." These beneficial mutations are passed on to the next
generation. Over time, beneficial mutations accumulate and the result is an
entirely different organism (not just a variation of the original, but an entirely
different creature). (Emphasis added)

Darwin and Natural Selection

Sometimes called "survival of the fittest," natural selection was most

famously explained by Charles Darwin in his book On the Origin of Species.
In the book, Darwin proposed that individuals with traits most suitable to their
environments lived long enough to reproduce and passed down those
desirable traits to their offspring. If an individual had less than favorable
traits, they would die and not pass on those traits. Over time, only the "fittest"
traits of the species survived. Eventually, after enough time passed, these
small adaptations would add up to create new species. These changes are
precisely what makes us human. (Emphasis added)

Second Law of Thermodynamics

Second Law of Thermodynamics - The Laws of Heat Power

The Second Law of Thermodynamics is one of three Laws of
Thermodynamics. The term "thermodynamics" comes from two root words:
"thermo," meaning heat, and "dynamic," meaning power. Thus, the Laws of
Thermodynamics are the Laws of "Heat Power." As far as we can tell, these
Laws are absolute. All things in the observable universe are affected by and
obey the Laws of Thermodynamics.

The First Law of Thermodynamics, commonly known as the Law of

Conservation of Matter, states that matter/energy cannot be created nor can
it be destroyed. The quantity of matter/energy remains the same. It can
change from solid to liquid to gas to plasma and back again, but the total
amount of matter/energy in the universe remains constant.

Second Law of Thermodynamics - Increased Entropy

The Second Law of Thermodynamics is commonly known as the Law of
Increased Entropy. While quantity remains the same (First Law), the quality
of matter/energy deteriorates gradually over time. How so? Usable energy is
inevitably used for productivity, growth and repair. In the process, usable
energy is converted into unusable energy. Thus, usable energy is
irretrievably lost in the form of unusable energy.

"Entropy" is defined as a measure of unusable energy within a closed or

isolated system (the universe for example). As usable energy decreases and
unusable energy increases, "entropy" increases. Entropy is also a gauge of
randomness or chaos within a closed system. As usable energy is
irretrievably lost, disorganization, randomness and chaos increase.

Second Law of Thermodynamics - In the Beginning...

The implications of the Second Law of Thermodynamics are considerable.
The universe is constantly losing usable energy and never gaining. We
logically conclude the universe is not eternal. The universe had a finite
beginning -- the moment at which it was at "zero entropy" (its most ordered
possible state). Like a wind-up clock, the universe is winding down, as if at
one point it was fully wound up and has been winding down ever since. The
question is who wound up the clock?

The theological implications are obvious. NASA Astronomer Robert Jastrow

commented on these implications when he said, "Theologians generally are
delighted with the proof that the universe had a beginning, but astronomers
are curiously upset. It turns out that the scientist behaves the way the rest of
us do when our beliefs are in conflict with the evidence." (Robert
Jastrow, God and the Astronomers, 1978, p. 16.)
Jastrow went on to say, "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the
power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the
mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls
himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have
been sitting there for centuries." (God and the Astronomers, p. 116.) It
seems the Cosmic Egg that was the birth of our universe logically requires a
Cosmic Chicken...

III. Big Bang Theory

According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as
"singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. What is a "singularity" and where
does it come from? Well, to be honest, we don't know for sure. Singularities
are zones which defy our current understanding of physics. They are thought
to exist at the core of "black holes." Black holes are areas of intense
gravitational pressure. The pressure is thought to be so intense that finite
matter is actually squished into infinite density (a mathematical concept
which truly boggles the mind). These zones of infinite density are called
"singularities." Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitesimally
small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something - a singularity. Where did it
come from? We don't know. Why did it appear? We don't know.

After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded
and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and
temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this
day and we are inside of it: incredible creatures living on a unique planet,
circling a beautiful star clustered together with several hundred billion other
stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an
expanding universe that began as an infinitesimal singularity which appeared
out of nowhere for reasons unknown. This is the Big Bang theory.

IV. Conclusion

The above HIGHLIGHTED EMPHASIS shows the prevailing humanistic opinion.

I Cor. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth

take heed lest he fall.

However, we that call on the Lord do not consider prevailing opinion as a

source of truth.
I John 5:6 … And it is the Spirit that beareth witness,
because the Spirit is truth.

I John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us;

he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the
spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

The followers of God seek for the wisdom that comes from him and desire
to pass that wisdom to future generations.

Duet. 4:9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul
diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have
seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy
life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons sons;

We that follow God chose to not follow opinion but to teach our young the
truth that comes from the source of truth, the scriptures.

Psalms 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God; and

the firmament (skies) showeth his handywork. Day unto day
uttereth speech; and night unto night showeth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not
heard. Their line (musical measure) is gone out to the end (all)
of the world.
