Calcium Silicate Insulation Material Calcium silicate insulation materials are made from powder siliceous limestone molded with the proper amount of water. A9510, calcium siteate 2, Rock Wool Insulation Materials 2.1 Rock Wool Insulation Board or Blanket (Rock Wool Wired Blanket) Felted or rigid material made of genuine rock wool fibers layered to the required thickness and reinforced by wire mesh, metal lath or other covering material. Piping 1.1 General 1.1.1 Before installing any insulation material (calcium silicate pipe cover), the entire piping feurface shall be cleaned carefully. Material at adequate thickness shall be well tightened by stainless ateel wire for layer by layer. Wire diameter shall be depending ‘upon outer diameter of insulation piping as per the below mentioned Table1. all the clearance of the joints shall be filled up by the senling compound of the seme quality of the insulation covers, After installation of the insulation cover In case of multi Inyer installation, every longitudinal and lateral seam lines shall not be located at the came line. All seam lines of insulation joints shall be completely scaled by the same material of the inaulation. In case of multi Jayer insulation, each seam linea both Jongitudinal and lateral shall rot be placed on the same position. (Hach seam lines shall be staggered.) All jointa along the axis of equipment and tanks shall be of the longitudinal triple seam type with a 15 mm lap and fastened by means of tapping screws (pan head). All jointe perpendicular to the axis of equipment and tanks shall be swaged with a 20 mm lap. ‘All jointa at the connection between the body and the end cover of equipment and thanks shall be of the double seam type with a 20mm lap and fastened by means of tapping screws (pan head). (See Fig. 10) 2.2 Equipment Flanges All the equipment body flanges shall be covered with insulation (rock wool) and lagging (lat aluminum sheet) with removable joint for the repair work or maintenance purpose Flange shall be insulated by prefabricated flange cover lined by the samme ins of the body, However, in case of flange cover with outer diameter exceeding 500mm, insulation material ion material shall be fastened onto the equipment body and flanges by stainless stee! wire. ‘The clearance between flanges and insulation covers ahall be long enough to easily remove bolts to any direction for repair and maintenance purpose. Turbine Proper 3.1 Turbine Casings Stud bolts shall be placed into shop welded nuts to the turbine proper surface for the inoulation. Each stud bolt shall be secured using another nut so as to obtain a double nut construction. Bio soluble fiber shall be installed on the proper surface and wired tightly by means of stainless steel wire so as to obtain a emooth contour with no voids or gaps Calcium silicate insulation shall be cut into segments and securely fastened by the wire in place over the blanket insulation Nute shall be secured over each insulation layer eo as deeply penetrate into the calcium silicate insulation prior to securely hold the insulation in place using stainlese steel wire laced around the stud bolts on the inner face of the nuts, All go Where multi-layer insulation is required, bio soluble fiber shall be installed and wired in place so as to obtain a close fit without any clearance and gaps. U1 be sealed using insulation cement, Upon installation of the calcium silicate insulation in the required thickness, hexagonal wire meth shall be placed over the insulation surface 20 as to obtain a close fit and covered with ingulation cement. A finish coat shall then be applied when the cement is dry. Insulation thickness shall be 20 % greater on the lower casing than on the upper casing. (See Fig. 12, 13) 3.2 Turbine Proper and Horizontal Flanges ‘Turbine proper HP casing and flanges shall be insulated by removable type mattress ‘This mattress consists of silica cloth and heat resistant glass cloth covered by bio soluble fiber and rock wool blanket. (See Fig 12, 14) 3.3 Main Valves Bio soluble fiber shall be installed on main valves and tightened by stainless ateel wire to keep a smooth insulated surface with out gaps, Calcium silicate inoulation shall be cut into segments and securely wired in place over the bio soluble Gber insulation, All clearance at joint seam line shall be sealed by inaulation cement. Where multilayer insulation is required, calcium silicate insulation shall be installed and wired in place s0 as to obtain a close fit with no voids or gaps.
