Email Servers Email servers facilitate the sending and receiving of email
messages.
FTP Server FTP servers support the moving of files through File Transfer
Protocol tools.
Identity Server Identity servers support logins and security roles for
authorized users.

 6. Server computers provide ‘services’ to the client computers on the network. In the table below,
name and describe 4 of these services:

Service Description
File and Print services It provides users with file storage and print management.
Web Services The Web server is software that runs on our hardware
server and serves web pages using the HTTP protocol.
Fax Services The workstations on the network can use special fax
software which can send the fax to the server, instead of
sending the fax directly out on the phone line.
Remote Access Services The Remote Access Server is connected to the Internet, and
end-users connect over the Internet using a VPN, or Virtual
Private Network connection to a Remote Access Server.
