Why is it so quiet in the stadium?

The Timbers Army and Seattle’s Emerald City Supporters and

Gorilla FC are acting together in protest of MLS’s inconsistent
policies and its ban on displaying the Iron Front image on
banners and flags, as well as promoting a shared goal of
ensuring that anti-fascist and anti-racist stances are formally
recognized as being non-political.

What to expect

● Both supporters’ groups will be silent f or 33 minutes: no

chants, drums, capos, or flags.

● At 3
3:01 on the game clock, the TA will start singing Bella
Ciao. We invite you to join us.

The end of the 33rd minute (33:01) is in reference to 1933, the year
the anti-fascist Iron Front was disbanded by the Nazis. Bella Ciao is
the WWII Italian anti-fascist anthem.

Na-na-na-na-naaa, na-na-na-na-naaa,
Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Gold, Gold!
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na,
Na-na-na-naa-naa-naa-naa-naaaa

We are the Timbers, the Portland Timbers,

Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Gold, Gold!
With our friends now, up to the city,
We’re gonna shake the gates of hell!

Na-na-na-na-naaa, na-na-na-na-naaa,
Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Gold, Gold!
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na,
Na-na-na-naa-naa-naa-naa-naaaa

Next time you see us, we may be smiling,

Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Green and Gold, Gold, Gold!
Maybe in prison, or on the TV,
We’ll say the Timbers brought us here!
