Peppermint: A Feminist Criticism

Peppermint is an action movie acted by Jennifer Garner as Riley North in the story. Riley North is
a widowed mother that seeks revenge for her family that were killed by the drug dealers. In which the
mean conflict is that, nobody in a position of power in a government believes her when she says that
she remember the faces of the three men who killed her family five years ago. The scene of the movie
are centered on the role of the women in the society enacted by Riley North as she acted as a killer in
the story. Riley North is a woman who is strong, a lady who has a standpoint and a drawback but a
communion in the society.

Men are also known as a strong individual in the society but the figure of Riley North it shows
that the women can also called as a powerful fellow in the society. As she fights for the criminals
through killing in a secret way. Torturing the judge and slay the suspects separately as part of her
revenge. Her power is an ordinary but she moves like an extraordinary lady.

Riley North has a standpoint for fighting her rights as a woman. A woman who can revenge even
though she is alone. She can combat to the lawbreaker without the help of the police. She is erudite
with the guns and self- defence. This regard for getting up the justice for her family as she shows that
she has a right for reprisal.

Lady of communion not a drawback, she is also known as a killer but she targeted only the felon.
As a lady her dignity maybe lose because of what she is doing. The quality of a lady who is demure turns
to wild that makes her a different for an ordinary person. But all of this are being rejected as long as she
get the equity for her family but at the end it shows that she’s not a problem maker but an advantage in
the society.

Riley North a mirror of different personality of a woman. A woman who fight for justice and
shows the equality of power between man and woman. This regards that becoming a strong woman we
should not desire to become a man to fight for the bad person it is with us on how we are going to
handle ourselves for being a unique women.
