Project A - Procurement

This object intends to integrate all the knowledge that students have learned in this
course. So, some of your earlier assignment can be used as illustration or
demonstration in this project.

Objective:
As the technical manager of a manufacturer, you are requested to propose a
CAD/CAM system to your boss.

Requirement:
1. you need to select one industry, such as woven textile, knitted textile, woven
garment, knitted garment.
2. you need to propose the latest CAD/CAM system to your company.
3. you need to list the system requirement.
4. you need to list the function requirement
5. you need to select 2 or 3 commercial brand.
6. you need to compare these commercial CAD/CAM systems
7. you need to draw conclusion and propose which system to buy.
8. you need to focus on the limitation of the CAD/CAM systems.

Marking Scheme:
A - Comprehensive comparison with lots of examples to illustrate the
limitation.
B - Good comparison with practical examples to illustrate the limitation
C - Not enough effort

Project B – Digital Design

This object intends to integrate all the knowledge that students have learned in this

demonstration in this project.

Objective:
As the fashion design manager of a design house, you are requested to propose a
fashion CAD system to your boss.

Requirement:
9. you need to propose the latest fashion CAD system to your company.
10. you need to list the system requirement.
11. you need to list the function requirement
12. you need to select 2 or 3 commercial brand.
13. you need to compare these commercial CAD/CAM systems
14. you need to draw conclusion and propose which system to buy.
15. you need to demonstrate with excellent art work to demonstrate the capability of
the fashion CAD systems.
16. you also need to prepare a virtual catwalk to convince your boss
