TOPIC: It is the formal leadership not common man who makes a difference in the society.

The ideas, the thoughts behind the statement, “It is the formal leadership not common man who
makes a difference in the society”, are my today’s topic. Any civilization, any community in the
world offers two fundamental roles for its citizens to fulfill. First are the rulers mostly termed as
monarchs or government, defined to be those who are authorized in accordance with rules and
convention to take control of and decision for the second fundamental role that is played by the
ruled ones most likely called as subjects or nation which comprises of the common men, usually
obeying and undertaking the orders of the monarch or the government. The most common
testimony of the authority being a cause of the difference in the society is when the new
administration takes control of the schools new session. New code of conduct, new orders, new
rules are obliged upon the students for their success in the future life and yes, from the moment
these laws are imposed, all the students stop talking and socializing in the class, don’t anymore
bunk any lectures. Junk food is out of our lunch boxes and we bring home made lunches or
fruits, begin doing the given homework daily and complete the class work in the class, there is
no more pending work left. In fact the number of absences from school on test days shortens,
moreover no cheating, no bullies, no fights outside and inside the classrooms, clean and proper
uniforms, girls no more backbite or waste their times in front of the mirrors and boys no more
stare good girls in the school and thus the authority proves itself to be really the cause of change
making the success on the halves of students inevitable. Isn’t that right? HAHA..! the grins on
your faces my fellows has answered this question quite sincerely. No a BIG NO this change
merely affects any students behavior in fact it even fails to affect the lives of those who have
implemented these rules and suppose if the administration is quite strict and sincere and any
highly responsible and hardworking mind chooses to follow this path it will only prevent him
from any big loss or harm making its life a safe one. BUT BUT BUT can that strictness add the
portion of diligence in any lazy mind. No it can never, only strong spirit of self control and
selflessness can change that mind and him realize his importance in the progress of the whole
nation.

Fellows, all this explanation proves the value of importance of participation of common man in
bringing the change. Throughout history there have been many important revolutions brought by
common people that have help to shape society as it is today. The French and American
Revolutions are examples of some which are brought about and enforced solely by the people.
Although they had different reasons behind them, they both lead to a better way of life for many.
The French Revolution was one of the larger social revolutions. It can be considered a revolution
on the political, social, religious, and economic front, although the biggest causes were social.
The French Revolution began on July 14, 1789, with the fall of Bastille and continued until the
rise of power of Napoleon Bonaparte. The main reason behind the revolution was the unfair
treatment between classes in France. There were three main classes, called estates.

The First Estate held the higher clergy. In the Second Estate were the noble families. They
owned land, held positions in the country, and paid no taxes. Most of the French population was
in the Third Estate. Life for those in this estate was horrible, as they were continually mistreated
and given no fair chance at succeeding. This was the estate that leads the revolution. The
revolution among the people lead to changes in France, including the adaptation of the
Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen. The society saw there was a need for change,
and took the opportunity to create it. They ran the revolution. The American Revolution was
brought upon by the people who wanted a change. Growing numbers of immigrants added to the
population in the lower and middle classes in the country, making overcrowding and poor
conditions. As cities started to grow, the government- located across the ocean- decided to try
and make changes, including larger taxes. The people in America did not like the idea of being
ruled over by people so far away, so they began their search for new forms of authority. The
people looked for independence, and their search led them to a war and the Revolution. As the
country became free and independent, more and more changes were made. The Declaration of
Independence was signed, and the Bill of Rights was issued. Unlike France and America's
revolutions, the Industrial Revolution did not come from the people's wants or active needs.
Rather, it was only aided by their intervention. The Industrial Revolution transformed English,
European, and American society. New social relationships were created as people began to work
with one another. The Revolution also created Europe's working class; the amount of families
getting their income from working the land at home changed from 80% to 40% as people began
to leave the farms and go to work in factories. It is the outcomes, that make the Revolutions so
important. They created a better life for everyone, and had they not happened the way of life
would be very different.

When tiny and humble drops of water move untidily together with intense speed and pressure
they behold the power to even destroy the rocky boundaries hindering their freedom.

In the end I would like to conclude my words with the quote of John Stewart Mill “The
worth of a state, in the long run, is the worth of the individuals composing it”.
