It is a privilege and a great joy for me to extend a vote of thanks to all those who have

contributed in one way or the other to make this seminar a success.

1. First of all I would like to propose hearty vote of thanks to His Excellency Zhabtog Lyonpo,
Honorable MPs, Honorable Secretary and distinguished guests for gracing the occasion.

2. Let me express my gratitude to Ms. Chenga Lham for conducting the entire session graciously
and efficiently.

3. Now I would like to express thanks to Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan for sharing words
of wisdom on how community vitality servs as a core for revitalizing our communities and
introducing the success stories of Ama town and Kamikatsu city. This is a testimony that the
efforts and the interventions we make is also going to be successful.

4. The video clip from kamikatsu city showed to us that narrating problems and building
expectations is only natural, it is the recognition of value of what we have in abundance,
innovation and believing that good will happened and the persistence to move forward.
Thus a community steered by a clear vison and strong leadership and through awareness
and proper planning clearly depicts how achieving success is definitely possible.

5. I take this opportunity to thank Director, DHS for sharing his thoughts on those aspects of
villages and communities that normally gets overlooked.

6. We have learned a great deal and are very much indebted to all the speakers who have
discussed the revitalization of rural communities from many aspects and shared their precious
knowledge with us.

7. Then the panel composed of experienced personnel which led onto a discussion on realizing
the seriousness of rural urban migration, the interventions and initiatives undertaken and the
issues faced while doing so and the need for revitalization by crafting our own unique
improved and effective ways.

8. 8. I would also like to offer my sincere thanks to JICA Bhutan for initiating this seminar,
providing necessary support and fund. This event will certainly provide a good input to the
formulation of CNDP and its implementation.

9. However, this event would not have been possible without the participants here. Thus, I would
like to thank participants for actively taking part in the discussions and paying your valuable
attention.
Last but not the least, I’m sure you will all join me in thanking the main people behind this
wonderful seminar:
Mr. Wakabayashi, Mr. Krishna, and Ms. Chenga Lhamo from JICA Bhutan
Hon'ble Secretary of MoWHS and all the staff of Department of Human Settlement led by
Director.
All that remains now is for me to once again thank everyone for making this seminar a great
success. Thank you and trashi delek la.
