Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Asean Federation of Cardiology (AFC), it gives me great pleasure
to welcome you to the 24th Asean Congress of Cardiology which held in Jakarta
hosted by The Indonesian Heart Association from September 19 - 22, 2019.
This congress is being held in conjunction with the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting
of the Indonesian Heart Association.

Asean Federation of Cardiology was founded in 1975. The 1st ASEAN Congress
of Cardiology held in Pertamina Cottage Hotel, Denpasar,Bali. Previous meeting
was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2018, and in 2019 for the fifth times held in
Indonesia.

The exchange of scientific and academic idea amongst the ASEAN countries has
been highly Enriching. This has led to better and warmer relationship within the
cardiology fraternities amongst doctors, nurses and technicians of all the ASEAN
countries.

With the fast progress in cardiology, this field continue to evolve, and it is
important that we keep up-to-date through continuous education and training.
Through this congress, I am confident that we will be able to discuss many ways
to share knowledge and skills.

We would like to encourage you to participate in this most prestigious event. It


is only with your contribution that we can ensure the success of AFCC 2019.

WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On Behalf of the Indonesian Heart Association (IHA) and 24th ASEAN Congress of
Cardiology (24th AFCC) Organizing Committee, we are pleased to inform you that
the 24th AFCC in conjunction with 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of the
Indonesian Heart Association will take place at Indonesia Convention Exhibition
(ICE), Jakarta, Indonesia on 19 - 22 September 2019.

The meeting will be conducted in collaboration with Asian Pacific Society of


Cardiology (APSC), American College of Cardiology (ACC), European Society of
Cardiology (ESC), Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSANZ),
Japanese Circulation Society (JCS). We expected over 3000 participants from
ASEAN region as well as ASIA.

The scientific program will include workshops, lectures, debates, case


presentations, late breaking studies, young investigator award, free paper, poster
presentations and industry symposia. During the four days of scientific sessions,
attendees will experience more interactive sessions, featuring the latest updates
on acute cardiac practice, heart failure, prevention, hypertension, cardio-
metabolic syndrome, surgery, echocardiography, electrophysiology and pacing,
vascular disease, cardiovascular imaging, intervention, pediatric and structural
cardiology and interact with colleagues from around the world.

With the current progress in science and technology in Cardiology Field, our role
as professionals in these field continuous to evolve, and it is important that we
keep up-to-date through continuous education and training. We believe that the
meeting will stimulate creative exchange of ideas and provide you with the
opportunity to renew old friendship and strenghthen the collaboration.

The venue of 24th AFCC is located in the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta which is
with its modern and metropolitan spot for sightseeing, excellent hotel
accommodation and the warmth of people makes Jakarta a perfect location for
hosting the meeting.

How to Sessions for General Practitioners


These sessions are designed specifically for general practitioners who work
in the primary health care.

Joint Symposiums
These sessions will integrate national experts in cardiology with top
international experts from prestigious societies that study the field of
cardiology from around the world, such as: American College of Cardiology
(ACC), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Asian Pacific Society of
Cardiology (APSC), Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSANZ),
and Japanese Circulatory Society (JCS).

Debate Session
This session will discuss in depth a topic related to management of
cardiovascular diseases that still have different ways to be applied in the
real world. A special topic will be chosen and different experts will present
her/his view on the topic from different angle. This session will also provide
some insights on how to make interpretations to the evidences available on
that specific topic. Finally, it will be up to the audiences to internalize the
facts and evidences to translate them in daily clinical practice.

Late Breaking Original Studies and Best Published Paper


New original papers or studies are the core of any scientific meeting
worldwide. These evidences come from a well designed studies to answer
problem or hypothesis arise in our daily practice. This session will feature
results of high impact studies conducted in ASEAN. The new findings or
newly published paper from Indonesian scholar will be presented.

Bring Up Your Cases: Discuss with The Experts


In accordance with the theme to empower health professionals in all levels
of care, we invite colleagues to bring up their unique or difficult cases on
the field of cardiology and vascular medicine in daily practice to the
session. A panel of cardiovascular experts with different subspecialties in
cardiovascular medicine will join the interactive discussion with the
audiences.

FOCUS: ABSTRACT BASED PROGRAMS

Young Investigator Awards


This competition is eligible for those below 40 years old (as January 2019)
who are residences of cardiology and cardiologist with interest in
cardiovascular research. Eight finalists will present their research in
English. The judges are the presidents or representatives from
Cardiovascular Societies member of ASEAN Federation of Cardiology.

Oral Presentation
Participants of this session will have a chance to present their research. It
will be a good opportunity to share and learn more. It is opened for
residents in cardiology, cardiologist, other medical specialist and general
physicians with interest in cardiovascular field.

Cardiovascular Research Forum


Selected papers will be presented in an open session and will be discussed
in depth with the leading national cardiology researchers.

Moderated Poster Session


Participants will present their research or case presentation with visual
display. The posters will be moderated by two experts in the respective
field, ensuring high quality interaction feedback.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT
The 24th AFCC Committee invites you to submit abstract of original investigations
for consideration to be published at European Heart Journal. Abstract should
constitute of original research (epidemiological studies, clinical studies, basic
studies and animal studies are equally encouraged) in the cardiovascular fields.
The content may include portions of prior abstracts and/or manuscripts submitted
or presented elsewhere. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by
the author(s) to present, if accepted. Failure to present may jeopardize future
acceptance of abstracts.

Abstract Submission Guidelines


Abstract Title
Abstract titles should be concise and should not contain abbreviations.
Please use correct Title Case and make sure to bold the entire title.

Example :
This is a Properly Formatted Title

Abstract Author
All individuals listed as authors should qualify for authorship and should
have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for
appropriate portions of the content. Authors included in the manuscript
should meet all of the following conditions: 1) substantial contributions to
the conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and
interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or revising it critically for
important intellectual content; and 3) final approval of the version to be
published. Any other contributors to the work who do not qualify for
authorship should be listed in an acknowledgement section.

The submitting author is automatically designed as the primary/presenting


author. List of author(s), institute(s), city, and country should be written
immediately below the title. Institute(s), city, and country should be
written in Italic and Authors name should be listed by initials followed by
surname only. First author name should be underlined.

Abstract Text
§ Abstract must be submitted in English.
§ Use Times New Roman for the text font and Symbol for the Greek and
special characters.
§ The numbers of words should not exceed 300 without titles, authors,
and organization.
§ The abstract should be formatted with the following headings: (1) Aims
or Background, (2) Methods, (3) Results, (4) Conclusion, (5)
Keywords. A maximum of six keywords may be submitted.
§ Supported file formats are MS Word and Word Document (.doc or
.docx), other file formats will not be processed.
§ Figures and images must be uploaded separately. Supported file format
is JPG or JPEG. The maximum numbers figures and/or images
submitted are 2 for each abstract.
§ Use zeros before decimal points, use dot (.) for marking decimal points,
use lower case “p” values. Example p<0.05.
§ Provide manufacturer name and location in parentheses for all brand or
trade names. For brand drugs, include generic names in parentheses.
§ Do not include references, credits, or grant support.

Abstract Policies and Procedures


§ There is no submission fee required to submit an abstract to 24th AFCC.
§ Registration to the main symposium is a must for all accepted
abstracts.
§ Abstract must be submitted electronically through our website at
www.afccjakarta2019.org by 11.59 p.m WIB, on Friday, March 15,
2019. Other method of submittance will not be accepted.
§ Abstract submitters will get an email confirmation of notification.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT
§There is no limit to the number of abstracts a person may submit.
§The overall quality of language used should assure comprehension by
the reader.
§Incomplete submissions cannot be processed.
§All abstract submitted are disclosured to members of the Peer Review
Selection Committee.
§Abstract grading is blinded and abstracts are selected on the basis of
merit.
§Submitters may revise information, correct typographical errors, tables
graphics, or withdraw an abstract any time before 11:59 p.m. WIB on
Friday, March 15, 2019. Please contact scientific@inaheart.org to
revise or withdraw an abstract.
§The 24th AFCC committee is unable to reimburse abstract submitters
for travel, hotel, and per diem expenses.

§ Accepted abstracts will be published at European Heart Journal.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Terms & Condition
a. Registration must be completed prior to payment or transfer
b. Full Payment registration should be made as follows :
§ For International delegate payment should be made through website
§ For local delegate payment should be made by bank transfer to

c. Open afcc2019jakarta.org then click confirm payment, and upload the
copy bank transfer receipt or email the copy bank and booking code to
registration@afcc2019.org.
d. After receiving both valid registration and payment form, a registration
confirmation will be sent back to participants. Please show this
confirmation to the registration desk when you come for Re-Registration.
e. Fees apply only upon receipt of registration and payment before the given
deadline (Fees apply according to the date of payment or transfer).
f. Changing or substitution of the participant's name will only be accepted
until July 1st, 2019.
g. There will be no refund.
h. Those who have not registered in advance may register at the On-site
Registration Desk.
i. Main Symposium registration is a prerequisite for all Pre-Congress &
workshop participants.
j. Online registration will be closed at 00.00 on September 9, 2019.
k. Onsite Registration will be available September 19, 2019 at ICE BSD
City, Jakarta

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
§ Written Cancellation of reservation must be notified to the 24th AFCC
Secretariat before June 30, 2019, a 50% refund will be returned after
congress ends. No refund will be allowed thereafter.
§ For name replacement, change of room type and notifying check in/out
date prior to June 30, 2019, please contact the 24th AFCC secretariat.
