Microorganisms are single-celled organisms are small, not visible to the naked eye but to

use a microscope. The term microorganisms is not equivalent to any unit classification in
scientific classification. It includes viruses, bacteria, archaea, fungi, microscopic algae,
protozoa. Etc.
[Edit] General characteristics

1. Small size. Size of microorganisms is usually measured in microns

2. Absorbed much faster metabolism. Lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus) in 1 hour can
resolve a sugar lactozo 1000-10000 times heavier than their mass.
3. Fast growth, strong development. Compared with other organisms, the bacteria
growth rate is extremely large. For example E. coli under conditions in around 12-20
minutes a time intersect. So microorganisms are many applications in biomass production
and many other substances.
4. Adaptive capacity and enabling power variation.
5. Widely distributed, many species. Microorganisms are everywhere on earth, even in
the harshest conditions such as high temperature in the crater, temperatures in Antarctica,
and pressures on the ocean floor is found in the presence of microorganisms.
Microorganisms have about 100 thousand species, including 30 thousand species of
protozoa, fungi 69 thousand, 1.2 thousand species of micro algae, 2.5 thousand species of
cyanobacteria, 1.5 thousand species of bacteria, a , two thousand species of viruses and
ricketxi ...

Because of mutations, so enabling the number of microorganisms found growing, such as

an annual average of fungi are adding about 1500 new species.
