LOS ADJETIVOS

Los adjetivos son palabras que describen a los sustantivos. Los adjetivos hacen a los sustantivos
más interesantes.

A bird -> A big red beautiful bird

My car -> My old, dirty car
This story -> This story is short and funny.

Big small short tall boring clean dirty

Easy hard old young nice fast slow

ADJETIVOS COMPARATIVOS: Los adjetivos comparativos los usamos para comparar animales, personas
o cosas. (más .....que)
ADJETIVOS SUPERLATIVOS: Los adjetivos superlativos los usamos para destacar animales, personas o
cosas de un grupo. (El más.......)

Si el adjetivo tiene una sílaba:

Para la mayoría de los adjetivos añadimos –er / -est:
Old Older than The oldest
Short Shorter than The shortest
Tall Taller than The tallest
Fast Faster than The fastest
Cuando el adjetivo sigue el patrón C+V+C entonces se duplica la última letra y se añade
–-er/-est:
Big Bigger than The biggest
Hot Hotter than The hottest
Wet Wetter than The wettest
Cuando el adjetivo acaba en e añadimos –r / -st:
Nice Nicer than The nicest
Safe Safer than The safest
Large Larger than The largest

Si el adjetivo tiene dos o más sílabas :

Cuando el adjetivo acaba en y, la y se convierte en i y añade –er /-est:
Funny Funnier than The funniest
Easy Easier than The easiest
Para el resto:
Beautiful more beautiful than The most beautiful
intelligent more intelligent than The most intelligent
Natural more natural than The most natural

Los adjetivos irregulares son aquellos que el comparativo y superlativo son distintos .
