make a trip, they have to carry the ticket and the Control Voucher with them. Note: It is not permitted for anyone not traveling
with the rest of the party to make another trip at the same time.
A Saver Pass is valid for all persons listed on the control voucher. Persons on the control voucher who decide to travel on

Travel Report

Each time before boarding a train, bus or boat, it is important that passengers record their trip in the Travel Report on the
Pass cover (in blue or black ink). If passengers travel without having entered the trip in the Travel Report, they risk a fine and
payment of a full fare ticket.

IMPORTANT: Travelling in the Netherlands

Many train stations in the Netherlands have platforms with entry/exit gates. To enter or exit from the train’s platform, traveller’s will need to
pass through these gates that are controlled with a bar code reader.

Most paper tickets and e-tickets and all Eurail Pass covers have a square barcode which can be scanned at the entry/exit point of the
platform. On trains originating in Germany and traveling into the Netherlands, the train personnel will provide you with a keycard to use to
exit the platform.

Step 1: Go to a gate with ‘scan ticket’ sign.

Step 2: Hold the square barcode against the illuminated area.
Step 3: The gate will open and you can now leave or enter the platform. If there is no square barcode on the ticket or the barcode
does not work and the gates do not open, push the blue info button on the post near the gate and travellers will be connected to a
station employee who will assist them.

7. Refund

Eurail Global Passes must be presented for refund unused and not validated.
An 85% refund applies to completely unused and unvalidated passes returned within one year of issuing date.
The Eurail Global Passes are not refundable and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or partially used.

5
Special refund conditions for Saver Passes

If 1 or more of the persons listed on a Saver Pass renounce from travelling the Issuing Office has to issue new tickets for the
remaining persons of the party.
If the application is submitted too soon before departure to Europe the travel agent has to cross out on the Control Voucher
the person(s) renouncing from travelling, sign and stamp the date on the Pass. Upon return from Europe, an application for
refund for the persons who did not travel must be submitted within 1 year from the date of issue. Partial refund is to be
granted by the Issuing Office.
If 1 or more of the persons listed on a Saver Pass renounce from traveling once in Europe, a railway official in Europe has to
endorse the Pass, before the first day of validity, stating that not all persons have travelled.
Upon return an application for refund for the persons who did not travel must be submitted within 1 year from the date of
issue. Partial refund is to be granted by the Issuing Office. If the minimum number of 2 travellers is not reached (only one
person has traveled) deduct the price of an individual Pass (with the same period of validity) from the price of the original
Saver Pass. The result, minus 15% cancellation charge, is the amount that can be refunded. If there is still a minimum of 2
travellers, a refund is granted for all persons not traveling, minus 15% cancellation charge.
