● What were the best and worst parts of Senior Project/Senior

Seminar?

The best part of my senior project was that I got to workout and eat right
which is something that I have always wanted to get better at. I got to grow and
become a better healthier version of myself. I learned a lot about how I like to do
things and what works best for me. It was overall a good skill building process and
now I have a workout and a diet that will last me a while ang grow with me as I
become a stronger more knowledgeable person on this subject.

The not so enjoyable parts would have been all the planning and figuring
out what I should be doing for my specific project. It was a long process of
research and figuring out what workouts I should/ wanted to do, and finding the
foods I should be eating and how much of those foods I could eat per day.

● List three things you now know after completing your Senior
Project.

One thing I learned from my project is that I am strong and capable of doing
things if I really put my mind to it. At the beginning I was super unmotivated and
discouraged because I did not know what I was doing, but once I got further into it I really
enjoyed what I was doing and looked forward to it everyday. The second thing I learned
was that working out and dieting is something I am really into and that helped influence
my future studies and what career to pursue, Which I have now decided is athletic
training. The third thing I learned from my project is that anything is possible. I went into
my project not thinking that I would get any results, or that I would get bored of my
project right away. But as of right now I have lost 20 pounds, learned how to control my
eating, and continue to enjoy and change up my workouts everyday, which keeps
everything interesting and fun.

● What problems did you encounter, and how did you handle
these problems?

Some of the problems i encountered were lack of motivation, not knowing what I
was doing, and having a bad attitude towards my workout and diet. The motivation and
my attitude had a lot to do with each other. To get over those I had to continuously tell
myself that becoming healthy was something that I want to do not need to do, and that
helped a lot. For most of the beginning of the project I did not know what I was doing. I
was continuously confused with the workouts specifically. To fix this I would sit down on
my phone and look up the workouts I did not know, which helped me to remember them
and make sure I was doing them right.

● Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched

you the most? How did you feel about and react to this
challenge?

Personally the part that stretched me the most was that I had to do my workout and
diet and then share my journey with the class and with a board of people. I have always
liked to keep to myself and have never been a fan of public speaking, so the fact that I had
to share something that seemed personal to me scared me. But after many practice runs it
is quite rewarding to get to tell people about my accomplishments of this project.

● How has Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills,

attitudes, work habits, capabilities, confidence, poise,
presentation, etc.)?

My senior project has mostly helped me with my mental stability. At the

beginning of senior year I was not doing the greatest mentally. I was really hard on myself
and just overall not happy. Quickly my workouts became and outlet, where I could relieve
the stress from my days. It easily became my escape. If I ever became to overwhelmed
with things I would get up and go get rid of all the stress and built up emotions through
my workouts.

● What would you do differently if you had to do the whole

Senior Project/Senior Seminar process again?

If i were to change one thing I would probably not do the diet and just do more of
cutting out bad foods, so I could focus more on my workouts and perfecting what
workouts I enjoyed and worked for me. I would also change it back to my original plan of
working out five days a week with cardio instead of just three days of lifting.
● What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?

The biggest advice I can give to next year's seniors is make sure your project is
something you will enjoy and will truly benefit you in the end. Also to start it as early as
possible. DO NOT put it off because senior year goes by fast, even if you think you have
a long time you really do not.

● Has this experience influenced your future plans?

I always knew I wanted to pursue some type job in the medical field, I just did not
exactly where. So when doing this project and writing up all my plans I realized that this
was something I really enjoyed. I have now decided that I am going to become and
athletic trainer and work with people to help them enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

● What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project
and what justification do you have for that grade?

I would give myself a solid A. I am giving myself this grade because I really
learned a lot from it and it benefited me in so many ways. I became mentally stronger and
now I have myself a healthy way to relieve any negativity from my day. I also
accomplished all of my goals of losing one to two pounds a week, which have added up to
20 pounds right now. Also the goals of getting into the pattern of working out and eating
healthier. I feel i have accomplished so much and have set myself up to continue the
process of becoming a stronger, healthier me.
