Generalidades
1. ¿Qué es la terapia génica?
Es una forma de tratar enfermedades causadas por mutaciones de genes, añadiendo
una copia que funcione normalmente a tantas células que estén afectadas para
restaurar su función normal.
3. ¿Cómo es el procedimiento?
Se identifica el gen responsable de la enfermedad
Se realizan copias del gen normal
Se inserta las copias en vectores
Se “infecta” las células afectadas con el vector
El gen normal es llevado al núcleo
El DNA es integrado al genoma
Se activa el gen tomando lugar la transcripción
