OBJECTIVES OF THE BACHELOR OF ARTS IN LEGAL MANAGEMENT


The Bachelor of Arts in Legal Management aims to produce graduates who:
1. Have an in-depth knowledge of the different laws affecting their rights as well as
their obligations to the Government, to the community, to their family and to other
persons;
2. Exhibit proficiency in applying provisions of the law to a given set of facts;
3. Utilize their knowledge of the different laws to discharge the obligations of a
democratic citizenship which grow constantly heavier in modern world;
4. Manifest respect for law as future leaders and as citizens; and
5. Possess appreciation of the role which the law, legal institution and political
subdivisions play in the society as well as understanding of the need for legal order .

Course Description
The course will deal with the development and application of principles and doctrines governing administrative agencies and their rule-
making, quasi-judicial and adjudicative functions with focus on administrative remedies and judicial review as well as the laws governing public
officers including the Civil Service, the merit system and the right to redress grievances.

Prerequisite/s : LM 56 A Constitutional Law

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Cognitive
a. Understand the development and application of principles and doctrines governing administrative agencies;
b. Identify laws governing public officers
c. Apply the principles, methods and processes of research employing extensive literature search of selected topic

2. Affective
a. Recognize the importance of the application of principles and doctrines governing administrative agencies.

3. Psychomotor
a. Provide related statutes under the 1987 Administrative Code and its amendments and the Civil Service Laws, Rules and related
jurisprudence.
b. Present a proposed administrative rule in any of the administrative agencies in the government.
