1.

Consider your accomplishments this term; describe the strengths

and weaknesses of your work in this course in terms of both your

process work and your final written texts.

This term really explored my mind a lot because I was able to challenge myself with

these essays. I experimented with a lot of different essay types and was able to

complete the course. My weakness at the beginning of the course was grammar, but I

feel like Noredink.com actually helped. Although at first I thought it was dumb and

childish, it was possibly one of the most beneficial parts of the course.

2. What strategies will you take away from this semester to use in

other classes? Why?

The strategies that I will take away from this class most definitely would be the grammar

that I learned. I learned better grammar in one semester than I did in four years of

highschool. I also learned how to get out of my comfort zone and try new things which

allowed me to write essays about topics I never thought that I would.

3. Which essays do you feel especially proud of? Explain why.

I feel especially proud of my social identity and This I believe essay because they were

essays about me. You don't usually get to write about yourself or something on your

mind anymore and the fact that I could was awesome. I was able to write essays that I

was passionate about and it worked out for me.

4. Which essay (or writing experience) did you learn the most from?

Describe what you learned.

I probably learned the most from the evaluation essay because I was able to learn both

sides. The facts that I was able to see the argument and counter-argument was very

interesting. I was not aware that the way you view things sways the entire essay.

5. The course competencies for ENG101 are listed here. In 2-3

complete paragraphs, please discuss how you met or strived to

meet each competency (1-7) listed below. What steps did you

take? Why? How? Explain each one.

I learned how to use and analyze specific rhetoric contexts. Audience and writer

were a huge part of my english 101 class because a lot of our essays had to do with it. We

had to analyze many essays and determine the context. The essays that were read and

written were used with coherence central idea unity. Voice, tone, diction, grammar were

something that I learned a lot in this class. Through noredink.com and through peer

review, I was presented to many options and learned new things.

The summarizing and paraphrasing of quotes is something I had already learned

in high school, but going into depth about it allowed me to better myself with the topic.

The feedback from peer reviews really helped out my essays because it gave me another

persons viewpoint on my writing. To a new student going into 101, I suggest them to
really pay attentions to the lessons because they will benefit when writing the essays. I

also suggest that they do their noredink.com assignments.
