Fourth Sunday of Easter

Motherhood cooperates in God’s miracle of creation! God’s love and mercy is present in motherhood,
in both joys and sorrows. When mothering is difficult, God fills the gap. From the peak moment of
childbirth, through the tedious daily tasks, God is actively participating in the process of motherhood.
Celebrate mothers, stepmothers, grandmother and godmothers today!
390 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week.
We have two vacancies; Saturday 12midnight to 1am and Sunday 5-6am.
How can you not do this? Per a well-loved pastor from St. Augustine a few
years back; “The easiest way to make your way to heaven is a weekly
committed Holy Hour, one hour a week in his presence.” Wow! Call 330-
690-9661 and commit now! What about Monday 10-11am or Sunday 3-4am? The
current adorers need a partner.

Please note: True Devotion to Mary, a consecration to Jesus through Mary, will be meeting Monday
from 7:00-8:30pm in the school in room #101. Our next meeting will be May 13. Come and join us!

Please join Joyful Hearts Ministry in their Mother’s Day DIAPER DRIVE this
weekend. Diapers will be collected at the foot of our Blessed Mother in the
alcove and distributed through BACM (Barberton Area Community Ministries)
to those in need. Please consider donating a package or two of unopened
disposable diapers ~ any size. Monetary donations gratefully accepted and will be used to
purchase additional diapers. Won’t you please help us serve those with the smallest voices?
Contact: Carolyn 330-234-7302 (call or text).

My Dear Parishioners:
I want to offer you my sincere thanks for your great generosity for
making our 2019 Lenten Almsgiving a great success! Once again we went
over our goal! As of the last count we have reached $10,918. $9,000 was
designated for Barberton Area Community Ministries and one thousand was
designated for the Soup Kitchen at First Presbyterian that we participate in serving.
Since we exceeded our goal BACM will receive $9,518. and the Soup Kitchen $1,400.
Anything received after this date will go to the Soup Kitchen. I am truly overwhelmed
and humbled by your generosity in meeting the needs of so many people who struggle
with hardship in our Barberton Community! You are truly the hands and feet and
presence of our resurrected Lord in so many lives! May God bless you and thank you
again for sharing the blessings God has poured out upon you! It is a true honor and a
blessing to be your pastor!

Christ’s Peace & Love

Pastor’s Formed Pick of the Week: “Brother Francis the Barefoot Saint of Assisi”
Augustine Institute Radio Theatre “If you think you know Francis of Assisi,
you’re in for a surprise. Discover the astonishing life of Brother Francis, the fun-
loving son of wealth and privilege who gave up everything of the sake of Christ. As a
young soldier, he encountered suffering. As a victim of war, he began a search for
inner meaning that would redirect his life. As a holy beggar, he embraced lepers,
shook hand with the Pope, debated a Sultan and touched the lives of millions.
Now the power and passion of one of the world’s most popular saints is
captured in this exciting 10 part audio drama from Augustine Institute Radio Theatre.
Bold and inspiring Air Theatre takes to a whole new level. Dozens of accomplished,
award winning actors bring characters to life, and cinematic sound, and music will
quicken the imagination.” This could be great for a summer road trip.
Christ’s Peace!

The 132nd Ohio General Assembly passed Senate bill 23 known as the Heartbeat Bill. The Heartbeat Bill
was the brain child of Northeast Ohio Pro-life advocate Janet Folger Porter ten years ago. Confidence in
her bill came from our Ohio State Motto: "With God All Things are Possible" Forms of the Heartbeat Bill
have been passed previously in six states and eleven other states currently have similar legislation in
process. This week NARAL, Planned Parenthood, etc., have used the Lakewood City Council to try and
undermine Ohio's leadership role in the protection of our most vulnerable, namely mother's in
desperate pregnancies and their children, both deserve better than abortion! Please, do what you can,
fast, pray, holy hours of reparation, witness, write, etc...St. Augustine Culture of Life meets on the
second Tuesday of the month following Mass and Benediction at 5:15pm... Ohio is a leader in the
movement to end abortion, YOU, can and will make a difference if only you do something, PLEASE do
not commit the sin of failing to try. For more information contact Lynn Willig @(330)472-9452
Next weekend, we will be participating in an important Follow-Up
Parish Appeal for Catholic Charities. Funds raised through this effort
will support improving the camp experience for campers with
disabilities through camperships to help reduce financial burdens,
programming and activities for campers with special needs, and cabin renovations that are adaptive for
campers of all abilities. With your support, Catholic Charites will be able to serve more campers with
special needs and enhance their experience once they arrive at Camp Christopher.

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT! All new, increased and additional gifts returned in the In-Pew Envelopes next
weekend or donated online at www.CatholicCommunity.org/Camp will be matched up to $100,000.

We hope you see the benefits that camp can have on persons with special needs. Prayerfully consider
the impact you can have on all who attend Camp Christopher, and please give as generously as possible.
Contact Karen Joyce at 216-696-6525 x 1910. Thank you for making a difference.
