(Desmond & Joanne) in Holy Matrimony. Let us
thank God for His love, blessings and guidance
for them and continue to pray that their life will
be filled with the grace and glory of God. We
pray too, that they will experience the
wonderful love of God in their marriage. Let us
also ask God to bless and bind them in this holy
and sacred bond of love and faithfulness. We
now invite the Lord into our presence as we
stand and welcome the bride.

Many are the blessings He bears

To those who trust in his ways.

1) We, the daughters and sons of Him

Who built the valleys and plains

Praise the wonders our God has done

In every heart that sings. ( chorus )

2) In His wisdom He strengthens us

Like gold that’s tested in fire

Though the power of sins prevail

Our God is there to save. ( chorus )

3) Every moment of everyday

Our God is waiting to save

Always ready to seek the lost

To answer those who pray. ( chorus )

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First reading: 2:18-24

A reading from the book of Genesis

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should
be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him”.
Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of
the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to
Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever
Adam called each living creature that was its name. So
Adam gave name to all cattle, to the birds of the air,
and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was
not found a helper comparable to him. And the Lord
God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept;
and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its
place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from
man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the
man. And Adam said : “This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man”. Therefore a man
shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his
wife, and they shall become one flesh.

6
The word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PS.: (Ps 42)

Commentator: Let us join with the choir to sing the Psalm:
“As the Deer Pants”

(1) As the deer pants for the water

So my soul longs after Thee
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee.

(chorus) You alone are my strength, my shield

To you alone may my spirit yield,
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee.

(2) I want you more than gold or silver

Only you can satisfy
You alone are the real joy-giver
And the apple of my eye. (chorus)

(3) You are my friend and You are

My brother even though you are
King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything. (chorus)

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:
7
Commentator: Please stand for the Gospel
Acclamation.

Choir: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia (x2)

People: If we love one another, God will live in

us in perfect love.

Alleluia! (Sung)

GOSPEL

Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

People: And with your spirit.

GOSPEL: John 15: 1-8.

Celebrant: A READING FROM THE HOLY GOSPEL

ACCORDING TO JOHN 15: 1-8

People: Glory to you, O Lord.

Celebrant: I am the true vine, and My Father is the

vinedresser. Every branch in Me that
does not bear fruit he takes away; and
every branch that bears fruit he Prunes,
that it may bear more fruit. You are
already clean because of the word

8
which I have spoken to you. Abide in
me, and I in you. As the branch cannot
bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the
vine, neither can you, unless you abide
in Me. I am the vine, you are the
branches. He who abides in me, and I in
him, bears much fruit; for without Me
you can do nothing. If anyone does not
abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch
and is withered; and they gather them
and throw them into the fire, and they
are burned. If you abide in Me, and My
word abide in you, you will ask what
you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this My father is glorified, that you
bear much fruit; so you will be My
disciples.

This is the Gospel of the Lord.

People: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

(Please be seated) Homily:

RITE OF MARRIAGE
Commentator: Please be seated. The solemnization of
the Sacrament of Matrimony will now
begin.

We invite the witnesses to come

forward and stand by the side of the

9
couple.

Celebrant: Desmond & Joanne , you have come

together in this church so that the Lord
may seal and strengthen your love in
the presence of the Church’s minister
and this community. Christ abundantly
blesses your love. He has already
consecrated you in Baptism and now He
enriches and strengthens you by a
special sacrament in order that you may
assume a life of matrimony in mutual
and lasting fidelity. And so in the
presence of this Church, I now ask you
to state your intentions.

DECLARATION OF INTENTIONS

Celebrant: Desmond, have you come here freely

and without reservation to give yourself
to each other in marriage?

Groom: I have.

Celebrant: Joanne, have you come here

freely and without reservation to give
yourself to each other in marriage?

Bride: I have.
10
Celebrant: Will you love and honor each other as
man and wife for the rest of your lives?

Groom: I will.

Bride: I will.

Celebrant: Will you accept children lovingly from

God, and bring them up according to
the law of Christ and His Church?

Groom: I will.

Bride: I will.

CONSENT
Celebrant: Since it is your intention to enter into
marriage, join your right hands and
declare your consent before God and
His Church.

(The couple join their right hands)

Groom: I, Desmond, take you Joanne, to be my

wife. I promise to be true to you in
good times and in bad, in sickness and
in health. I will love you and honor you
all the days of my life.

11
Bride: I, Joanne, take you Desmond, to be my
husband. I promise to be true to you in
good times and in bad, in sickness and
in health. I will love you and honor you
all the days of my life.

Celebrant: You have declared your consent before

the Church. May the Lord in His
goodness strengthen your consent and
fill you both with His blessings. What
God has joined, man must not divide.

All: Amen.

BLESSING OF THE RINGS :

Celebrant: Lord, we bless (+) these rings in Your
Name. Grant that those who wear
them may always have a deep faith in
each other. May they do Your Will and
always live together in peace, good will
and love. We ask this through Christ
our Lord.

People: Amen.

EXCHANGE OF RINGS
(Bridegroom places his wife’s ring on her ring finger ))

Groom: Joanne , take this ring as a sign of my

12
love and faithfulness.

In the Name of the Father and of the

Son, and of the Holy Spirit .

(Bride places her husband’s ring on his ring finger.)

Bride: Desmond take this ring as a sign of my

love and faithfulness.

In the Name of the Father and of the

Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

(Lifting of the bridal veil) (Song/Music)

NUPTIAL BLESSING
(While the newly married couple kneels, the witnesses
come up and place their hands on their shoulders in
support. Congregation remains standing.)

13
Celebrant: Let us pray to the Lord for (Desmond &
Joanne) who come to God’s altar at

the beginning of their married life so

that they may always be united in love

for each other.

(The priest extends his hands and

continues:…)

Holy Father, You created humankind in

Your own image and made man and
woman to be joined as husband and
wife in union of body and heart, and so
fulfill their mission in the world.

Father, to reveal the plan of Your love,

You made the union of husband and
wife an image of the covenant between
You and Your people. In the fulfillment
of this sacrament, the marriage of
Christian man and woman is a sign of
the marriage between Christ and the
Church.

Father , bless Desmond & Joanne, Lord,

grant that as they begin to live this
sacrament, they may share with each
other, the gifts of Your love and

14
become one in heart and mind as
witnesses to Your presence in their
marriage. Help them to create a home
together and give them children to be
formed by the Gospel and to have a
place in Your family.

Give Your blessings to Joanne , Your

daughter, so that she may be a good
wife and mother, caring for the home,
faithful in love for her husband,
generous and kind.

Give Your blessings to Desmond, Your

son, so that he may be a faithful
husband and a good father.

Father, grant that as they come

together to Your table on earth, so they
may one day have the joy of sharing
Your feast in heaven.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

People: Amen.

15

called this young couple to a new state
of life:

Your instrument of worship

I lift up my hands in your name………(

2x)

3) Lord, play me, Your instrument,

Your instrument of worship

I lift up my hands in your

name………( 2x)

Celebrant: Blessed are You, Lord, God of all

creation, through Your goodness we
have this bread to offer, which earth
has given and human hands have made.
It will become for us the bread of life.

All: Blessed be God for ever.

Celebrant: (The priest says quietly while preparing the

18
wine)

By the mystery of this water and wine, may

we come to share in the divinity of Christ,
Who humbled Himself to share in our
humanity.

Celebrant: Blessed are You, Lord, God of all

creation, through Your goodness we
have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine
and work of human hands. It will
become our spiritual drink.

All: Blessed be God for ever.

Celebrant: (The priest says quietly)

Lord. God, we ask You to receive us and be

pleased with the sacrifice we offer Your with
humble and contrite hearts.

(The priest washes his hands and says

quietly)

Lord, wash away my iniquity; and cleanse

me from my sin.

INVITATION TO PRAYER
Celebrant: Pray, brothers and sisters that our
sacrifice may be acceptable to God, the
Almighty Father.

19
People: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at
your hands for the praise and glory of
His name, for our good, and the good of
all His Church.

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

Celebrant: Lord hear our prayers and accept

the gifts we offer for Desmond &
Joanne.
Today You have made them one in
the sacrament of marriage.
May the mystery of Christ’s
unselfish love, which we celebrate in
this Eucharist,
increase their love for You and for
each other. We ask this through
Christ, our Lord.

People: Amen.

INTORDUCTORY DIALOGUE
Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

20
People: And with your spirit.

Celebrant: Lift up your hearts.

People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People: It is right and just.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER : PREFACE II for

the celebration of Marriage

Celebrant: It is truly right and just, our duty

and our salvation, always and
everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and
eternal God, through Christ our
Lord.

For in him you have made a new

covenant with your people,
so that, as you have redeemed man
and woman
by the mystery of Christ’s Death
and Resurrection,
so in Christ you might make them
partakers of divine nature

21
and join heirs with him of heavenly
glory.

In the union of husband and wife

you give a sign of Christ’s loving gift
of grace,
so that the Sacrament we celebrate
might draw us back more deeply
into the wondrous design of your
love.
And so, with the Angels and all the
Saints,
we praise you, and without end we
acclaim:

SANCTUS:

People: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,

God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of Your
glory,
Hosanna in the Highest.
Blessed is He who comes in the
name of the Lord,
22
Hosanna in the Highest.

(Please kneel)

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,

the fount of all holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these
gifts, we pray,
by sending down your Spirit
upon them like the dewfall,
so that they may become for us
the Body and + Blood of our
Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed

and entered willingly into his
Passion,
he took bread and, giving
thanks, broke it
and gave it to his disciples,
saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND

EAT OF IT,
FOR THIS IS MY BODY,

23
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR
YOU.

In a similar way, when supper

was ended, he took the chalice
and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples,
saying

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND

DRINK FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY
BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND
ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR
YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

MYSTERY OF FAITH.

Celebrant: The mystery of faith.

24
All: When we eat this Bread and drink
this Cup
we proclaim your Death, O Lord,
until you come again.

Therefore, as we celebrate the

memorial of his Death and
Resurrection, we offer you, Lord,
the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy to
be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body
and Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your Church, spread

throughout the world, and bring her to the
fullness of charity, together with (Our Pope
Francis and (Sebastian Francis, our Bishop)
and all the clergy.

Remember also our brothers and sisters who

have fallen asleep in the hope of the
resurrection, and all who have died in your
mercy: welcome them into the light of your
face.

25
Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed
Joseph, Her Spouse, with the blessed
Apostles, and all the Saints who have leased
you throughout the ages, we may merit to be
coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and
glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through Him, and With Him, and In

Him, O God, almighty Father, in the
unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and
honour is yours, for ever, and ever.

People: Amen.

That’s how it is with God’s love,
Once you’ve experienced it.
You spread his love to ev’ryone;
You want to pass it on.

2) What a wondrous time is spring when all

the trees are budding
The birds begin to sing;
The flowers start their blooming.
That’s how it is with God’s love,
Once you’ve experienced it
You want to sing it’s fresh like spring
You want to pass it on.

3) I wish for you, my friend, this happiness

that I’ve found
You can depend on Him, it matters not
where you’re bound
I’ll shout it from the mountain top,
I want my world to know;
The Lord of love has come to me,

36
I want to pass it on.
I’ll shout it from the mountain top,
