33:45 khyentse: khyen = knowledge, tse = love

Khyen: taming oneself through knowledge. Tse: benefitting others through love

42:00 Meaning of Yeshe: Ye - beginningless, primordial. She - knowing, awareness.

49:00 First Q & A

1:04:00 Self-arising and Self-awareness Yeshes

Rangjung yeshe (rang byung ye shes): Self-arising (or: self-existing) wisdom
Rangrig yeshe (rang rig ye shes): Self-awareness (or: innate awareness) wisdom

1:14 rangjung yeshe is the source of 3 ground yeshes, 5 path yeshes , and 2 fruition yeshes.

1:15 -1:17 yeshe is not a subtle movement of the movement state, as in the the 3 stages of
pointing out: abiding (ne, gnas), movement (gyu, ‘gyu) and awareness (rig, rig).

1:15:45 yeshe - jnana - wisdom & sherap - prajna - knowledge

1:17:30 3rd part: Ground, Path, and Fruition Yeshes

- Ground: 3 yeshes
ngowo tongpe yeshe - wisdom of the empty essence
rangshin salwe yeshe - wisdom of the clarity (clear/luminous) nature
tukje kun khyab kyi yeshe - wisdom of the all-pervading compassion

These are the manifestation of rangjung yeshe.

These 3 ground yeshes are in essence one: ka dak, primordial purity.

1:20:30 Path: 5 wisdoms

Suchness (dharmadhatu), Mirror-like, Equanimity, Discriminating Awareness, All-
accomplishing
Also known as:
tshan-nyi dzinpe yeshe (mtshan nyid ‘dzin pa’i ye shes): wisdom with characteristics

1:22:00
In the ground, of rangjung yeshe, these abide as the object (yul).
In the path, these are received from the pov of the subject (yul-can).

1:23:45 As Jigme Lingpa described in his Yönten Dzö (The Treasury of Good Qualities):
The empty essence is the dharmadhatu wisdom.
The clarity nature is the mirror-like wisdom.
The mirror-like wisdom is the source of the next three wisdoms:
Equanimity, Discriminating Awareness, All-accomplishing wisdoms.
The all-pervading compassion is the all-accomplishing wisdom.

1:26 Fruition: 2 yeshes of fruition.

The 2 yeshes of knowing:
The knowing of suchness yeshe [chos nyid ji lta ba mkhyen pa ye shes]
and
The knowing of all that exists yeshe [chos can ji snyed pa mkhyen pa ye shes]

1:27:30 4th part: How to Practice Yeshe on the Path.

Shravakas practice yeshe, but call it denpa (bden pa), the truth of egolessness.
There are mahayana and vajrayana practices of yeshe.

1:29 In the Mahayoga Tantras, there are the 7 Treasures of the Absolute.
From within those, the two main ones are:
Ying tontam (dbyings don dam) - Absolute Space - object
Yeshe tontam (ye shes don dam) - Absolute Wisdom - receiver

1:31 Yeshe Cholwa is the unity of rangjung yeshe and rangrig yeshe

Cholwa (‘chol ba) means “crazy,” but in the Dorje Trolo sadhanas it is understood as
indestructible, the inseparability of rangjung yeshe and rangrig yeshe.

1:34 Practices of Yeshe: the sutrayana also has it:

Look at the Longchenpa’s “Finding Rest in the Nature of Mind” in Chapter 7 on the 4
Immeasurables : how the 5 wisdoms are practiced on the path through the 4 immeasurables.

Sem-nyi Ngal-so - an important work of Longchenpa

Changling Rinpoche’s knowledge is vast and profound. I often learn many new things and
terms when receiving teachings from him. Any mistakes here are my own.
