Amul

Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative, based at Anand in the state of Gujarat.

Formed in 1948, it is a brand managed by a cooperative body, the Gujarat Co-
operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), which today is jointly owned
by 3.6 million milk producers in Gujarat.
While visiting to different retailers of area Rishra Hooghly of West Bengal I fetched
out some data about i.e. the ordering quantity of Amul milk by different retailers.
While my survey I went to different retail stores named as Gourij, Nilesh Stores,
Renu’s, Shreya and stores, Mahamaya Snacks all of them order around 30-40 litter
milk a day which gets delivered by the distributor’s twice a day. Milk demanded by
the retailers are Amul taza, Amul gold while the other category like slim n trim, and
Shakti is not much demanded in their trading area. Customers generally demands
for 500 ml pack of the milk.
