III. DEFINITION OF THE TOPIC:

3.1 Project Context


Online Shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly
buy goods or services from a seller over the internet using a web browser. Online shopping
became popular because its more convenient for customers to visit a website instead of visiting
store itself.

Crazy Tails is located at 152 Mac Arthur Highway Lolomboy, Bocaue, Bulacan. It started
operating in the year 2015, owned by Chrizel D. Galano, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in
Nursing at Jose Rizal University. The pet supplies offers pet products with regard to the needs of
the pet like cages, pet foods, travel crates, and playing pens. Their business process is that they
will accept orders on phone or through walk in, the owner will ask for the order of the customer,
the owner will verify the order of the customer if it is still available in their stocks after
verification the customer can now have the items and the owner will receive the payment from
the customer. If its made through phone the customer will be inform about the scheduled of
delivery or shipping. After the transaction was done the owner will now record the transaction
made in the log book. The owners order goods through phone calls. Their suppliers are the
Mikendre Corporation, Taste of the Wild, and Pet Discount Incorporation. The said suppliers
ship goods to the shop upon calls of the shop owner. Upon acquisition of the supplies, the
owners record the transaction in the log book.

3.3 Objectives of the Study


1.2.1 General Objective of the Study
The general objective of the study is to develop a online shopping website for
Gzhels Pet Supplies that can improve their business transaction.

1.2.2 Specific Objectives


The study aims to achieve the following:
1. To develop a website where the owner can easily update the product price , product
stocks and product description.
2. To create a website that will improve the business transaction through the use of online
payment.
3. To design a website that will monitor the customer satisfactions through product
reviews.

3.4 Purpose and Description


This study and system will be helpful to:
1.3.1 Shop Owner
The website will be the aid of the shop owner in sales and inventory of their
products,where they can make sound decisions for their business.

1.3.2 Customers
The website will be beneficial to customers through faster transaction and quality service
form the GZhel’s Pet Supplies.

1.3.3 Future Researchers


This study can serve as their reference and guidelines for future researchers; they can
also improve and enhance the capabilities of the system.

1.3.4 Proponents
This study can help the researchers in developing their analysis through studying and
developing effective solution on stated problem.

3.4 Scope and Delimitations of the Study

There are 2 user type website the owner and the customer.Owner can manage the stock in
and out of the products. Owner has master list of stocks , customers and supplier. She can also
promote a product by adding it to the featured product. The customer must register first by filling
up the form that contains their personal information like firstname,lastname,
address,birthday,contact number and email address. Customer account can view the items
information , add items to his/her cart . Customer can track the status of their purchased item on
whether its purchased or delivered. Guest can only browse the website but transactions cannot be
process unless they register for a customer account. The application can generate sales and
inventory report. The website is responsive and accessible to mobile phones. This application is
for Gzhels Pet Supplies only.Other sellers cannot advertise their product. The customer mode of
payment is paypal, cash on delivery and store pick up. This application is delimited to bank
payment.
