NARRATIVE REPORT

Programs/Project/Activities: Attendance on Annual National Convention of Philippine Society of

Sanitary Engineers, Inc.
Date: November 21-25, 2018 (including the travel time)
Venue: Winford Hotel and Casino at San Lazaro Tourism Business Park, Sta. Cruz Manila

The PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF SANITARY ENGINEERS, INC. (PSSE), the only Accredited
Professional Organization for Sanitary Engineers by the Professional Regulation Commission through
Accreditation No. 26, held the 2018 Annual National Convention last 22-24 November 2018 at Winford
Hotel and Casino at San Lazaro Tourism Business Park, Sta. Cruz Manila with the theme “BUILD, BUILD,
BUILD: INTEGRATION TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY”.

There were technical sessions presented that focused on the seven (7) fields of specialization of
Sanitary Engineering pursuant to CMO NO. 35 Series of 2009 aimed to provide avenue for Sanitary
Engineers towards their professional development. The objectives of the convention were as follow:

1. To obtain updates on new knowledge and available technologies in the practice of the
profession and for professional growth;

2. To strengthen and/or establish relationship not only with fellow Sanitary Engineers but with
provider of technologies as well;

3. To identify areas where the Sanitary Engineers can be of help towards nation building;

4. And most of all, to earn units in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the
renewal of professional license as mandated by RA 10912.

The ParSU delegates who attended the said convention were composed of three (3) faculty members:
Engr. Moriel L. Prado, Engr. Marjorie C. Atole and Engr. Arnold D. Sabuco together with twenty-three (23)
BS Sanitary Engineering 5th-year students. The students participated PSSE Annual Quiz BEE with other
students from Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT), Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City
(TIP), National University (NU), Batangas State University (BatSU), St. Paul University (Tuguegarao), De
la Salle University (Cavite) and Western Mindanao State University.
