Baltimore, MD, April 18, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Beyond Charity: Re-Imagined Communities. His talk
addresses how modern healthcare, in the midst of industry consolidation and technological innovation
must also continue to support the health of the community in which it's located which requires a
re-imagining of the hospital's role in the community.

Bioethicist and influencer James Corbett holds both a law degree and Masters in Divinity; as a former
health care executive at some of the nations' largest health systems he has a unique voice as an
experienced insider in healthcare with unique resources to critique that same industry.

Non-profit health systems are continually under scrutiny as to whether or not they live up to their mission
and tax status. As communities surrounding hospitals and education facilities continue to struggle new
questions have arisen as to the value and efficacy of continuing tax deductions. James offers a compelling
and dynamic vision for communities and society at large that is concerned about the growth and expenses
of the health industry and whether or not non-profit hospitals truly live up to their charitable purpose.

Hospitals effects a wide swath of society as healthcare encroaches upon 20% of GDP. Mass citizenry,
policy makers, academicians and the society at large have increasingly become more concerned with the
inner workings and machinations of large health systems. Mergers and acquisitions in healthcare increase
costs of health services and warrant increased scrutiny of their value.

James served as a fellow at Harvard Medical School, Harvard's Safra Center for Ethics and the Nashville
Healthcare Council. In addition, he served a 4-years on the National Institute of Health's National
Advisory Council for Nursing Research. Mr. Corbett earned his Bachelor of Science in International
Relations from Syracuse University, his Juris Doctorate from St. John's University and a Master of
Divinity from Duke University.

James is paid to speak around the country on topics of ethics and on the health care conglomerate. He also
consults with hospitals, health plans and technology companies on how innovation can be used to better
serve the needs of underserved populations. James is principal and founder of Initium Health. Initium
Health is a public benefit corporation committed to using innovation to improve human health.
