BACK BENDING WORKSHOP


Part 1 @ Upper Back
We will explore fundamental back bending, including mobilizing thoracic spine,
deeper opening of the thoracic spine to restore mobility in a safe manner,
cultivate strength and confidence for more depth in your upper backbends.

What you will learn from Part 1:


- How to mobilize & strengthen thoracic spine using CAT tools.
- How to create space in the stiffest area of the upper back using the backbender.
- How to position the head in all back bending pose

Part 2@ Lower Back


This level will outline the basic principles of the Critical Alignment method. We
would introduce many of the specialized yoga tools used in Critical Alignment ,
focusing on the function of the lower back, pelvis and core.

What you will learn from Part II:


- meaning of core activity in backbending.
- Basic foundation to providing center position for lower back.
- Providing extension to the entire lower back.
- Strengthening the weaker area of lower back.
- Exploring symmetrical and balanced backbending.

Poses include : Locust, cobra, Upward dog, Bow, Wheel, Camel
