Robbers – The 1975

The 1975 es una “boyband, formado por Matty Healy (voz principal, guitarra rítmica), Adam
Hann (guitarrista solista y teclado), Ross MacDonal (bajo, teclado y coros) y George Daniel
(batería y coros). La banda se autodefine como un conglomerado de canciones electropop,
emo, punkpop, indierock, y así hasta acabar existencias con los subgéneros.

Para nosotras, “Robbers” es sin duda la canción más completa e intensa, donde Healy canta
sobre las relaciones tóxicas y/o destructivas y la obsesión que conlleva eso. Como el título dice,
tanto él como ella se roban la felicidad que hay entre ellos y abusan de ella: “I´ll give you one
more time, we’ll give you one more fight. Said one more line, there’ll be a riot, `cause I know
you”. Esto no quita que lo que siga sientiendo sea amor. Porque para él, una relación es “todo
o nada”.

La profundidad de las letras es uno de los mayores fuertes de The 1975, que constantemente
lucha contra la corriente, al ser catalogados como “un cliché más”, en su esfuerzo por ser una de
las mejores bandas pop del momento.

band defines itself as a conglomerate of songs electropop, emo, punkpop, indierock, and so on until
finishing stocks with the subgenres.
For us, "Robbers" is undoubtedly the most complete and intense song, where Healy sings about the toxic
and / or destructive relationships and the obsession that entails. As the title says, both he and she steal the
happiness between them and abuse her: "I'll give you one more time, we'll give you one more fight. Said
one more line, there'll be a riot, `cause I know you." This does not mean that what remains is love.
Because for him, a relationship is "all or nothing".
The depth of the lyrics is one of the biggest strengths of The 1975, which constantly struggles against the
current, being cataloged as "one more cliché", in its effort to be one of the best pop bands of the moment.
