    Reactivity 3 indicates that a shock or heat may detonate


    Because of the very fast reaction rate of burning acetylene, it is not
    generally possible to design an enclosure to safely vent the
    explosive pressures. Furthermore, because of the ease of ignition
    of acetylene, premature ignition is very possible.
