Ladies and Gentlemen

As part of ASEAN, I am aware of our growth economic. This also serves as our contribution to our

neighboring countries like. Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar,

Cambodia, Laos, Brunei. These 10 countries have been cooperating and collaborating for the benefits of

the people and their country. ASEAN is very important because it gives us a productive impact on our

culture, education and tourism of each country member.

ASEAN: A Community of Oppurtunities

ASEAN countries is good for those people who are business minded. they can grab oppurtunities to sell

their own products, because ASEAN countries is open to accept exports like imported products from

other countries. GDP of ASEAN is nearly 3.5 trillion US dollars, And after 2050 ASEAN could become

the fourth- largest economy by 2050. It is a good news for ASEAN because we can supply the demands

and needs of our fellow people, enlight with this why ASEAN is a Community of Oppurtunities, simply

because of our strategic location, with abundant of natural resources, high-quality products and we are

engage economically, Now ASEAN is one of the most diversified regions in the world. Because we have

many languages and rich cultures and heritages. And I was amazed that ASEAN now is increasingly

linked by business networks, trading relationships, and shared rescources. This is good for our country

because we can offer oppurtunities to our people especially to those people who are contractual and non –

workers, with this they can support their needs. That’s why ASEAN is called “Community of

Oppurtunities”
Creative Industries: An Engine For Growth of ASEAN

As ASEAN has achieved substantial progress in it’s Community building process during the last ten

years, much of it can be attributed to a positive external economic environment, higher levels of

international trade and investment and an expanding labor force that is more educated and able to support

moving up the value chain from the agriculture to manufacturing and higher value-added activities. With

this ASEAN needs those people who are competitive enough to support our agriculture to manufacturing

to sustain our economic growth. With our natural resources we can provide our infrastactures to become

more durable and high quality. because ASEAN countries is increasingly recognized by the big countries

in our world, that’s why I recommend those students who will become our future engineer to study hard

and do something that can contribute to our country, Indeed, the success story of cultural and creative

industries in other countries sets an excellent example of ASEAN to emulate. For example, here in korea,

the content industries accounted for 2.4% of GDP in 2011, while the figures for Thailand was 1.8%,

Singapore 1.6% and Malaysia 0.7%

Wow our Gross Domestic Product is continually increasing. Because of the products we make and

exporting it also to other countries this serves us our contributions and by this we can help in making our

GDP increase because if we have High GDP we can easily transport products and we can financially

support the needs of our country. As of now my reaction for this given statement. I as a member of

ASEAN and to become future engineer I can help our country to discover new products that can help our

industry to be more creative and innovating. Going forward ASEAN now is a future technological

innovation and creativity initiatives, and this ways can give benefit to our society. To make this Happen,

we need to work together especially in all kinds of mechanics because we can nurture our own creative

talent and harness the strength of excellence of our artisctic and cultural heritage.
Many of our members have seen the success and the power of Korean Hallayu( or Korean Wave) which

has effectively popularized Korean culture since the late 1990s and harnessed it for innovation,

technological and economic development through various forms like Kdrama, K-pop, film, animation,

smartphones, automobile, etc.

We can also make ways as what Koreans do we are creative and innovative we can use our imaginations

and our skills to do some things that can help our society to become powerful. There are many ways to do

it we can use our recources as our basis for our needs and demands by this we can formulate new products

that can contribute to our society. we are rich in natural resources especially in bodies of water we can

discover more new things we can use this as our way to improved our economic growth, and also for me

we need to develop machineries, heavy equipments and things that are related to create a building.

Because this can help to make our country to become popular and this can attract tourists which can

contribute to our economy. and also for those people who are opportunistic in businesses.

An initiative to further promote film cooperation in ASEAN is being discussed to utilize the power of

film and audio-visual images in the advancement of potential economoic and socio- cultural gains, share

film resources, infrastructure and facilities in our region. It is interesting to note that the initial discussion

about film in ASEAN was kicked start amongst ASEAN participants at the Asian Film Commissions

Network ( AFCNET ) meeting held in Busan in march 2012. A series of other programs have been

identified to develop the market for ASEAN arts and culture, such as ASEAN arts management in the

creative industries, the ASEAN performing arts market, cultural tourism, heritage parks as part of

ecotourism and preserving cultural heritage, among others. These are areas for potential cooperation with

the Republic of Korea and Other Dialogue partners.

With this kind of mechanism films are also considered as our economic strategies. Because this can be

our potential economic and socio- cultural gains. Because of this we can promote our new advance

technology in filming. And we can sell it to other countries that can help to promote our initiatives and

imagination in the field of filming, and for me I want our directors and editors to enhance their film

because when other countries buys our film we can contribute to the growth of our industry. Because

ASEAN people are skillful enough and talented to do a film that can show their own culture, there

hobbies, and show to other countries on how our neighboring countries are good in the field of filming

especially in Thailand when I watch the movies of Thailand they were good and they are imaginative.

And I can’t believe that film was made by Thailand I was so shocked and amaze because when I watch

that horror movie I was so scared because of the movement of the scene and you can’t expect if the ghost

will appear on that scene because it is hard to distinguish because everything is good in every scene. and

at first I thought it was made in europian countries. And also here in the Philippines many directors are

imaginative and talented especially in the field of filming but we are lack of technology. But it doesn’t

mean that we can’t have that technology because we can make and provide them because ASEAN allied

countries are helping each other. And the efforts of our government alone are not enough to fulfill our

needs in filming because we need collaboration of our allied countries because other countries has no

funds in filming. Now based on the sources that I have read, ASEAN is now providing laws, legal

framework of IP laws to protect the innovations, creations, as well as designs and ensuring better future

frontiers. That is good for us because we can secure our creations and no one can copy it because if they

do it they will be punished.

EDUCATION

In the field of education our government provides everything to enhance the standards of our needs

because students now are obliged to contribute to our country, simply because we want our countries to

be competent enough to other countries, because we have resources that can be use as our product in

making new things, new products. And every local government in every country in ASEAN will focus on

education. Because they believe that education is the answer for the growth of our economy. And they

believe that future engineers nowadays will discover new things and competitive. And K-12 program is

an additional year here in our country, why k-12 program are implied to our country? Simply because

ASEAN allied countries want Philippines to follow the rules. And to enhance our education because

Philippines is one of the countries that are not yet in k-12 program.

ASEAN is one of the most dynamic regions in the wider dynamic Asia-Pacific with great oppurtunities.

ASEAN welcomes all partners who have interest working with us to transform our cultures and

diversities into oppurtunities, making creative industries an engine of growth.

And I believe also that education is the key for our growth engine, because education helps people to

become professional and competitive.
