HCl H+ + Cl¯
Ejemplos:
Ejemplo:
Acids such as hydrochloric acid is called muriatic acid that is used as rat poison,
acetic acid is vinegar, citrus comes in fruits such as oranges, lemons, etc.
Glutamic is usually in sweets, sulfuric is used a little industrially, but some
cleaning products contain it in small quantities.
Acids are compounds that result from the combination of hydrogen with another
compound. They usually cause skin burns if they come in direct contact with
them. As an example we can mention the hydrochloric acid, HC + 2HCl.
Bases or Hydroxides: are ternary compounds that result from the combination
of some metals with water or a basic oxide with water.
The bases have a bitter taste, they color the blue litmus and have a soapy feel.
When an aqueous solution of an acid is combined with another of a base, a
neutralization reaction takes place. This reaction in which, generally, water and
salt are formed, is very fast.
The bases can be found in products such as magnesia milk is a base Mg (OH2),
soda, lime, quicklime, etc.
Bases like soda sodium hydroxide, you use to unclog the spout, lime is used in
construction and also to nixtamalize corn, ammonia is also sometimes used as
a base and serves for nitrogen compounds, also has gardening applications
Acids and bases are commonly used both in the home and in industry, as well
as in agricultural work; some of them are transformed by man from raw materials
that he acquires from the natural environment. Acids and bases are important
at an industrial level, many products found in the home represent this type of
compounds.
