NARRATIVE REPORT

ON

ENGLISH /READING MONTH CELEBRATION 2018

The Kinuman Norte National High School held its ENGLISH MONTH CELEBRATION
2017, also known as the NATIONAL READING MONTH from November 1 to November 30,
2017. The activity was mandated by the Department of Education pursuant to the DepEd
Memorandum No. 301 to RA 10556 declaring every 27th day of November as National Reading
Month. In line with this memorandum, the English Department prepared the whole month
activities to support the Every Child A Reader Program (ECARP) and Early Language Literacy
and Numeracy (ELLN). Attached here is the matrix of the activities conducted in this month’s
celebration.

ACTIVITIES:

1. SPELLING BEE:

There were three contestants per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objective of
this activity was for the students to spell the words correctly in a WORDSCAPES style. It was
held in the Grade 7-B classroom, November 8, 2017 @ 3:00- 4:00 pm. Grade 10 participants
were proclaimed as the winner. Mrs. Krish Humigop was the In-charge of the activity.

2. KNNHS SINGING IDOLS:

There was one contestant per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objectives of the
activity were to expose one’s talent taking note of correct pronunciation of words, proper diction
and intonation and to build one’s confidence on stage. It was conducted at the School Stage,
November 13, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 10 participant was proclaimed as the winner. Mr.
Gerome Zamora was the In-charge of the activity.

3. ESSAY WRITING:

There was one contestant per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objective of the
activity was to write unified, coherent and well organized paragraphs. It was conducted at the
Faculty Room Mini Library, November 15, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 12 participant was
proclaimed as the winner. The In-charge of the activity was Mrs. Krish S. Humigop.

4. QUIZZ BEE:
 There were four contestants per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objective of the
activity was to gain knowledge about the English language. It was conducted at the School
Stage, November 16, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 10 participants were proclaimed as the
winner. The In-charge of the activity was Mrs. Krish S. Humigop.

5. READER’S THEATER:

There were eight to ten participants per year level from grade 7 to grade 12 depending on
the piece. The objective of the activity was to develop creativity and craftsmanship among
students’ through reading. It was conducted at the School Stage, November 20, 2017 @ 3:00 –
4:00 pm. Grade 12 participants were proclaimed as the winner. Mr. Gerome Zamora was the In-
charge of the activity.

6. EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH

There was one contestant per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objectives of the
activity were to expose one’s talent in talking the English language with correct pronunciation of
words, proper diction and intonation and to build one’s confidence on stage. It was conducted at
the School Stage, November 22, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 11 participant was proclaimed
as the winner. The In-charge of the activity was Mrs. Krish S. Humigop.

7. JAZZ CHANTS

There were eight to ten participants per year level from grade 7 to grade 12 depending on
the piece. The objectives of the activity were to develop creativity and craftsmanship among
students’ through reading and to expose one’s talent in chanting with correct pronunciation of
words, proper diction and intonation and to build one’s confidence on stage . It was conducted at
the School Stage, November 24, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 11 participants were proclaimed
as the winner. Mr. Gerome Zamora was the In-charge of the activity.

8. ORATORICAL SPEECH

There was one contestant per year level from grade 7 to grade 12. The objectives of the
activity were to expose one’s talent taking note of correct pronunciation of words, proper diction
and intonation and to build one’s confidence on stage. It was conducted at the School Stage,
November 27, 2017 @ 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Grade 10 participant was proclaimed as the winner. The
In-charge of the activity was Mrs. Krish S. Humigop.

The said activities were successfully done through the help and cooperation of KINUMAN
NORTE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL teaching force and principal.
