What is the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises & Apprenticeship Completion Grant?
The Small and Medium-sized Enterprises & Apprenticeship Completion Grant is a RWF 8,800, 000. 0% taxable cash grant
designed to encourage apprentices and SMEs registered under the Rwandan business and intellectual property authority act and
trade to complete their apprenticeship training program and receive their business funding as soon as they are done with the
training.
Am I eligible?
- A Rwanda citizen, permanent resident or protected person1 as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Act.
- Able to show you are a determined upcoming or a pro entrepreneur in a designated business field.
- Willing to create employment and at the same time sustain your business.
Is there a deadline?
No. But kindly submit your form once you acknowledge receipt of this mail.
The grant is taxable and has a lifetime maximum of RWF 8,800,000 per eligible person or company. If you apply for funding as a
group, make sure that you have the company registration documents.

Terms and Conditions of Payment for the Provision of the Apprenticeship Completion Grant
Payments made, through a cheque or direct deposit, to eligible recipients will be made in a lump-sum payment upon
approval of the application and verification of successful apprenticeship training completion and certification of a
designated GEF entrepreneurship program and in receipt of a provincial or territorial certificate of qualification as
prescribed by the apprenticeship authority in the province or territory in which the applicant completed the
apprenticeship program and was certified. Eligibility of applicants is also subject to the authentication of identity,
verification of the applicant's completion of an apprenticeship program and certification, determination of whether
the applicant has already received the maximum payment under the SME funding and receipt by the appropriate
Service Rwanda Processing Centre of required supporting documents.
The government of Rwanda and the GEF will provide a one-time 0% taxable cash grant of up to RWF 4,500,000 to
applicants who successfully complete an apprenticeship program and become certified in one of the GEF registrars.
There is a lifetime maximum amount of RWF 8,800,000 per recipient and/or company.
Any payment payable to you or your company under this grant application is subject to the appropriation of funds
by Parliament for the fiscal year in which the payment is to be made and to the maintenance of current and
forecasted funding allocation levels for the SMEs Completion Grant.
If the Government of Rwanda were to cancel this program or reduce its level of funding, GEF could elect not to pay
the grant or to reduce the amount of the payment
Definitions
Entrepreneurship Authority
There is a governing body in charge of apprenticeship in each continent. This body is usually a branch related to
each provincial or territorial Department/Ministry/Commission of Education and Training with legislative authority
over training, regulation and certification of the apprenticeship program for their continent. Ours is the Global
Entrepreneurship Fund (GEF) Organization.

The information you provide in this application is collected under the authority of the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Act to administer
and enforce the SMEs Completion Grant (SMEs). The National Identification Number (ID) is collected under the authority of the Department of Human
Resources and Skills Development Act and in accordance with the Rwanda Treasury Board Secretariat Directive on the SIN which lists the Entrepreneurship
Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) program as an authorized user of the ID. Please note that the SMEs funding program is an extension of the AIG. The SIN
will be used as a file identifier and, along with the other information you provide, will also be used to validate your application, and to administer and enforce the
SMEs funding. You must provide your ID and the other personal information requested on this form to be considered for the SMEs grant.
Administration and enforcement of the SMEs funding means development, management and operation of the program. Which include but not limited to
investigations into allegations of wrongdoing, audits, and policy analysis, research and/or evaluation. These activities may involve the matching of various
sources of data that are under the control of the Government of Rwanda. The information collected in this application will not be shared with other federal
government institutions.
