A. Course Description
This is an introduction to the main divisions of Anthropology. The concept of culture: its origin, development and diversity; assumptions of culture; theory and method of cultural
anthropology applied to the analyses of selected cultures and cross-cultural patterns.
B. Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 1. Integrate the basic concepts and principles of cultural anthropology by discussing and understanding its origin,
development and diversity 2. Analyze societies through its cultures and vast cultural patterns

Level of Competence : A student should obtain 70% of the above components of the grading system to be able to get a passing grade.
In accordance with BOR Res. 12, s. 1997, MSU system follows the grading system below :
Any student who, for unavoidable cause, absents himself from class must obtain an excuse slip from his Dean to be presented to the instructor concerned not later than
the second class session following the student’s return. If the absence is due to illness, the student concerned must secure a medical certificate from the MSU-IIT Clinic/attending
physician.
All class work missed must be made up by said student in order to comply with the subject requirements within a reasonable time from date of absence.
A student shall be dropped from the class when his/her absences reach 20% of the prescribed contact hours of the subject.
