INTRODUCTION:
Nationalist Approach in History played a vital role in Indian historiography since the second half
of 19th century. Indian nationalist historians tried to prove the falsity of colonial historical narrative
on the basis of analysis of existing historical source and also they were also was raised as a political
weapon to eliminate foreign rule in India. Ideological studies were regarded as a binding factor of
Indian people and their sentiments. History was taken to means as a motivating force of national
awakening and made use of to instill patriotic feelings. National pride played a big role in providing
inspiration to common people and historical consciousness began to grow steadily as never before.
No ideological development came into being to challenge the mighty British imperialism for a long
time to come in India. With the spread of new education, press, means of communication, economic
exploitation of India’s resources, political awakening began to usher in different regions of the
country. Besides, a process of founding the political organizations started at the regional and local
levels during the mid of 19th century. All these factors paved way for the emergence of a national
organization which was deemed essential by the newly educated classes. This organization is
popularly known as the Indian National Congress founded in 1885 by 72 members from different
parts of India In the beginning, the Indian National Congress firmly believed in the moderation and
loyalty to the British Crown. When this congress founded, it indicated the beginning of a national
political life destined to produce for reaching changes in the immediate future.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:


1. The researcher tends to analyze That the nationalist approach in history strive towards
independence.
2. The researcher tends to analyze that rise of nationalism leads to end of colonial period.

HYPOTHESIS:

1. The researcher tends to presume that nationalism in India arose to meet the challenges of
foreign dominations.

2. The researcher tends to presume that during the colonial period Indian people had faced
many difficulties..

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

The researcher will be relying on Doctrinal method of research to complete the project.

The researcher will be relying on both primary and secondary sources to complete the project.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

The researcher has monetary and time limitations in completing the project. Further emphasis will
