David Clanin of Turner & Associates told the Vinita
school board Monday night that the district is in good
shape and an audit showed no problems.
He said, “Overall, the audit had a clean opinion,
with no issues.”
He noted the district was doing a good job of man-
aging available funds and not overspending, and had
a healthy carryover. He added that with electronic

This report was followed by a monthly report from
Asst. Supt. and school treasurer Rusty Rankin, who
said that not much had changed from last month’s
report.
He added that when comparing year to year, to keep

Rankin pointed out that gas utility costs were down
compared to last year. Speech therapy costs were up
30%, but balanced out from occupational therapy
costs being 50% lower than last year.

from the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years to see
what type of savings the district was making after
installing the LED lighting.
In one year, the cost savings so far was $10,000,
which included the fact that additional buildings
were included.
He said that personnel costs are higher right now
due to raises, but that they will balance out.
