Customary values In referenced specifications that do not contain SI Units shall be converted to SI values to atleast three significant figures for use in calculations and other aspects of construction. 7-130 EQUIPMENT It isthe responsibility of the Code Usor to ensure that the examination equipment being used conforms to the requirements of this Code Section 7-150 PROCEDURE (a) When required by the referencing Code Section all nondestructive examinations performed under this Code Section shall be performed following a written procedure. [A procedure demonstration shall be performed to the sa- Usfacton ofthe Inspector. When required by the referen- cing Code Section, a personnel demonstration may be used t0 verify the ably ofthe examiner to apply the ex- amination procedure. The examination procedare shall ‘comply with the applicable requirements ofthis Section for the particular examination method. Written proce dures shall be made available tothe Inspector on request. Atleast one copy of each procedure shall be readily avall- able to the Nondestructive Examination Personnel for their reference and se. (2) The nondestructive examination methods and tech- niques included in this Section are applicable to most geo= metric configurations and materials encountered in Fabrication under normal conditions. Whenever special configurations or materials require modified methods ‘and techniques, the organization shall develop special procedures wiich are equivalent or superior to the met ‘ods and techniques deseribed in this Code Section, and which are capable of producing interpretable examina~ tion results under the special conditions. Such special procedures may be modifications or combinations of methods described or referenced in ths Code Section. A procedure demonstration shall be performed to verify the technique Is capable of detecting discontinuities un- der the special conditions equal to the capabilities of the method when used under more general conditions, ‘These special procedures shall be submitted to the In- spector for acceptance when required by the referencing Code Section, and shall be adopted as part of the Manuic- turer's quality control program. (©) When a referencing Cade Section requires an exam Ination to be performed in accordance with the require> ments ofthis Section, i shall be the responsibilty of the organization to establish nondestructive examination procedures and personnel qualification and certifiation Procedures conforming to the referenced requirements. (2) When qualification ofthe written examination pro- ‘cedures required by the referencing Code Section itshall ‘be qualified by performing a demonstration examination which shall be performed (2) under the control and supervision of a Level HT Examiner who is qualified and certified for performing the examination method and technique specified by the procedure, and shall be witnessed by the Inspector.
