My Analysis.

1. Yes, I see samples of the three different types of portfolio which is

Growth/Process/Development Portfolio, Showcase/Best Work Portfolio and
Evaluation/Assessment portfolio.
2. I observe that the most commonly used portfolio is Evaluation/Assessment Portfolio. The
portfolio containing their quizzes, written activities and examinations.
3. As I examined three selected portfolios, I do not see all of the elements but some are there. I
mostly see was the entries-both core and optional items and dates on all entries to facilitate
proof of growth over time.
4. It is necessary for a teacher to use varied types of portfolio to see what are the weaknesses and
strength of the students. And for the sake of their creativity and neatness in making one project.
5. If one element or two elements of portfolio are missing there is no any impact on the
assessment process because if you use the Evaluation Portfolio then you will expect that their
output must the Cover letter, Entries-Both core and Optional Items and Dates on all entries to
facilitate proof of growth overtime and sometimes they have Table of Contents with numbered
pages. But reflections are hard to find at the portfolio of the students.

My Reflections

1. Portfolio not made the learning assessment process inconvenient because this is their growth
and improvement. If one student passes his/her portfolio and the teacher notice his/her
weaknesses, then the teacher will do an action for the improvement of those students with
weaknesses.
2. A showcase portfolio can be assessment portfolio as well because the showcase portfolio
containing high score activities, quizzes and examinations and assessment portfolio containing
not only the high score but all of the activities, quizzes and examinations. That’s why showcase
portfolio can be assessment portfolio as well.
3. Development or growth portfolios can be assessment portfolio too because the two portfolios
containing the same output which is activities, quizzes and examinations. But in development or
growth portfolios contains the other activities even they are not recorded because it can be
containing scratch papers and draft papers while not in the assessment portfolio.
