• On November 15, 2018, India and UK signed the MOU on India-UK Cancer Research Initiative in New

• Two important projects were inaugurated on November 15 under Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry

Andhra govt revealed its State Emblem inspired by Amaravati art
• On November 15, 2018, after 5 years of bifurcation in 2014, Andhra Pradesh government unveiled
its new emblem for official use. It consists of “Dhamma Chakka” – “the Wheel of Law” embellished with
a ring of Triratnas alternating with pinnate leaves and precious stones.
Sri Ramayana Express flagged off from Safdarjung railway station in Delhi
• On November 16, 2018, Shri Ramayana Express was flagged off from Safdarjung Railway Station in New
Delhi. The pilgrimage circuit it will travel on, named- Shri Ramayana Yatra-Sri Lanka, consists of two
travel components –one each in India and Sri Lanka.

Tribunal set up to decide on ban on two Tripura militant groups
• On November 16, 2018, the Home Ministry set up a tribunal to decide on banning 2 militant groups
from Tripura.The tribunal is headed by Delhi High Court Judge Justice Suresh Kait.
WCD Ministry approves setting up over 1023 fast-track courts to dispose off rape, POCSO cases
• Women and Child Development (WCD) Ministry has approved setting up of 1023 Fast Track Special
Courts to dispose off pending cases of rape and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences)
Act throughout India. Law and Justice Ministry had sent a proposal regarding this to WCD Ministry.
2-day 9th Session of the India – Kyrgyz IGC concluded in New Delhi
• On November 16, 2018, the 2-day 9th Session of the India-Kyrgyz Inter-Governmental Commission on
Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation (IK-IGC) concluded in New Delhi. It started
on November 15, 2018. The IK-IGC was co-chaired by Union Minister Suresh Prabhu,and Mr.
Kosmosbek Cholponbaev, Minister of Health, Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
DIPP Hosts Global Digital Content Market 2018

Government to pay employers 7-weeks maternity leave given to staff


• On 15th November 2018,The Women and Child Development Ministry announced that the Government
will reimburse employers the salaries for 7 of the 26 weeks of maternity leave for women, who is
earning more than Rs 15,000 a monthThe salary of female employees will be refunded from labor
Welfare Cess.

• On November 18, 2018, the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) unveiled its
Online Open Learning training platform named- KOOL.This will help Kerala to become India’s first
complete digital state in Education.

Industrial Park Rating System to be released by Commerce Ministry
• On November 19, 2018, Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu released report
on Industrial Park Rating System at a national workshop in New Delhi. It is a part of centre’s vision to
make India a 5 Trillion Dollar economy out of which 20 per cent is expected to be generated from
industries.
9-day 14th edition of international children’s theatre festival held in New Delhi
• From 17 to 25th November 2018, the 9-day 14th edition of Jashne Bachpan, a theatre festival for
children, commenced at the Sammukh, Abhimanch, Abhikalp and Little Theatre Group (LTG)
auditorium in New Delhi.
Maharashtra Cabinet passed Maratha Reservation Bill; introduced new category SEBC
• On November 19, 2018, Maharashtra government led by CM Devendra Fadnavis passed the Maratha
Reservation Bill.As per the bill, Maharashtra will create a new category called SEBC (socially and
educationally backward class) in order to give reservation to Marathas.
Animation, Gaming & Visual effects Institute to be set up in Mumbai
• On November 19, 2018, the central government announced setting up of Animation, Gaming and Visual
effects Institute in Mumbai . This was announced by Information and Broadcasting
Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore.

has given assent to a bill passed by Punjab state assembly.

States was started in Jaipur.Both forces train on different aspects including hostage rescue, building

Malaria cases declined by 24% in India
• World malaria report by World Health Organisation (WHO) states that, India is the only country to have
achieved a substantial decrease in malaria cases in 2017 out of the 11 highest burden countries
throughout the world.
Centre approved Rs 74k-crore for sanitation projects
• On 20th November 2018,Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that, the Centre has approved
2,400 projects worth Rs 74,000 crore for improved water supply, sewerage and drainage.These projects
have been approved under AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) under
the state annual action plans for 2015-2020.
Centre approves additional assistance of Rs 546.21 crore from NDRF to Karnataka
• On 19th November 2018, Centre approved additional assistance of Rs 546.21 crore from National
Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to Karnataka. Karnataka was hit by floods and landslide in August
2018.
NMCG approved 10 composite Sewerage Projects in Agra worth Rs. 1573.28 Crore
• On November 21, 2018, National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) approved 10 sewerage projects
worth Rs 1573.28 crore to address Yamuna’s pollution issues in Agra. The decision was taken by
the Executive Committee (EC) of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) for the states of Uttar
Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh.
A National Institute of Inter-Faith Studies to be set up in Punjab
• On November 21, 2018, the Union Minister of Culture, Shri Mahesh Sharma, announced centre’s
proposal to set up a first-of-its-kind institute of Inter-Faith Studies in Amritsar, Punjab as a part of the
year-long activities to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak in 2019.
Himachal Pradesh government approved implementation of Sashakt Mahila Yojna
• On November 20, 2018,the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram
Thakur approved implementation of Sashakt Mahila Yojna in the State.It also decided to implement
the Himachal Healthcare Scheme (HIMCARE) in the state.

Saudi, UAE Announced USD 500 Million In Aid To Yemen

Australia and Poland join US rejection of UN migration pact
• Australia and Poland refused to sign a UN pact on migration because the agreement would undermine
their existing immigration policies. A draft of the agreement, which is not legally binding, was finalized
in 2017 after more than a year of work.

• On November 14, 2018, Reserve Bank of India imposed a fine amounting to Rs. 6.1 crores fine on two
lenders such as Rs 30.10 million on Deutsche Bank was imposed and also fined Rs 30 million on The

• On November 14 2018, IndusInd Bank has launched a credit card Named Nexxt Credit Card which is

• On November 17, 2018, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $300
